High Standard, Anyone?

I saw a "High standard 1911 in the shop today for $339. I am just mostly looking for a plinker, BUT something reliable. I really don't knw much about high standards other then they made good .22's, are their 1911 good too?

I just read a review from a few years ago. A bunch of people got together and tested one. They all said it was a very nice gun. They compared it to a Series 70 crossed with an old NM Colt.

I have been told that the High Stqndard line of 1911's is made in the Phillipines by the same company that makes Rock Island 1911's. I've heard they are okay for the money.
