Bought the TRP, sent it back four times, then the rear sight fell out two nights ago. 3600 rounds down range, still very accurate, has always functioned great, just a bunch of somewhat small things have gone wrong with it to really upset a guy. I still recommend the gun, as mine is probably a fluke, and Springfield has been great as far as customer service goes.

Never really read about the Lawman, but from what I've heard about the Trojan, it's probably a good gun.
Sig Arm has been having some problems with their GSR. I would wait for their next version of the GSR if you really want one.
Les Baer SRP was built to compete for the FBI HRT pistol contract so they are of very nice quality. They are pretty expensive too.
Springfield TRP is a nice pistol. It's a couple steps above it's Loaded brothers. But why stop here. If you think you are going with the SRP, then look at the Professional as well. It has been picked by the FBI so something must be right.
I have a springer so id prolly pick that right now
but the Baer and sti sound awsome too

I am guessing the TRP Pro and not a TRP.
Man oh man It's between the Baer and the TRP Pro. They are dead even in my book.
OK looked over both pistols I choose the TRP Pro, although I like the looks of the Baer more to be 100% honest. It's really even in my book minus the Baer not having a magwell.
Edit: I can't spell ;g

Easy for me an STI all the way.
Kinda hard to go wrong with any of them..... the GSR is my least favorite due to personal experiences. I'd say STI is by far the best value.

For me that's easy the SRP. I like Baers a lot. This one is pretty similar to the SRP, but only 64 were made so it'll probably be a little harder to find.

The Springfield TRP Professional would also be an excellent choice.

I'd take a Colt new rollmark Government over any of them.

It's kind of a gamble if you do. I bought a NRM S70s and there was tooling marks from the top to bottom of the slide. Got it's replacement and it's a rattletrap to say the least. The fit on my RIA is actually better. Apparently I'm not alone on this. Colt is putting out some great guns in theory but their fit and finish QC has something to be desired.
It's a pretty good bet. My friends and family have, cumulatively, bought nine of these guns within the past two years. Every one of them has been excellent with regard to fit. Four have been left in boxes; five have been shot. The five that have been shot have exhibited zero failures to feed or extract. I have two that I shoot - one has about 800 rounds through it; the other, about 500 rounds. I have had zero malfunctions of any kind.
From looking at them in gun shops, I have noticed that the basic model (Government) usually exhibits better fit than the more expensive XSEs and special models. I discussed this with a manager in one of the shops, and he agreed. For whatever reason, it seems that Colt is taking extra measures to ensure proper fit with regard to its standard no-frills Government model.
As far as them being rattle traps, as you put it, out of the nine, three are rattle traps, six are not. I have one of the rattle traps. My other came out of the box SUPER tight, and is still very tight. They both shoot exactly the same as far as accuracy and reliablity. The key is how well the barrel-to-slide lockup is. All three of the rattle traps have an excellent lockup; there is no movement whatsoever when one pushes doen on the hood of the barrel. If I had to be in a very dirty environment, I just might grab my rattle trap first.

They come out of the custom shop, however many have had problems with the fit and finish. With both the WWI reproductions and the S70 re-issue. Great looking finish when it's done right for sure. For me it was a disappointment. These guns are $800ish for a virtual mil-spec from Colt's "custom shop".... I'm not impressed. My STI which was $100 more is a significant step-up over my Colt in every respect except for the mirror like finish on the Colt.
Our standard Governments did not come out of the custom shop. They are stragiht off the assembly line and came in standard boxes. My cousin has two WW1 repros, a WW2 repro, and a series 70 repro. They all came in the custom shop boxes. Our NRM Series 80 Governments did not.

I know its not a choice but oh well, I have really enjoyed my Rock Island armory 1911 I'm working on getting a high rise beavertail safety and I have the commander hammer. I need to learn to load cast bullets so they dont have that little fringe on the side. Otherwise with good concentric ammo the gun is perfect for me. I am gonna start shooting PPC matches with it here soon. Right now I just use my S&W 629 .44mag with light loads and that thing is nice to play with.
