Just about what I paid for mine, brand new w/papers. Flawless in all operation so far (only about 150rnds) and shoots great. It's much lighter than my 4" Compact Custom, which makes for a better 14hr day of carrying.

Yes, I have one and a CDP Custom, both are non-series II's. No problems ever even with shok buffers installed. These are perhaps the best Kimber's ever made IMO. I will never part with either until I'm buried 6' under.

I have one of the prototypes, Combat Carry. It's operated perfectly for me. It does require a good recoil spring, change it every 800 rounds. I use mine at IDPA matches some. You can scar the alloy frame just below the feed ramp if you use magazines with metal followers and there may come a time when you will want to refinish the frame when enough of the finish has been rubbed off.
The recoil is different than a steel government model; not harder, just different. Sometimes it seems to me that I am quicker on target with the lighter pistol, but on the long shots, the sights on a 5" are best.
