Do I need to get G31 magazines after I change the .40 S&W barrel to .357 SIG on my G24? Are there any reliability issues with using G22 magazines over the G31? And most importantly will a G31 magazine fit into my new G24?

I use both in my G31. You should be fine.

In terms of function, no there is no difference in my experience. In terms of appearance, yes there are few. First: the witness holes are "arranged", for lack of a better word, differently. Have you happened to notice the fifteenth round of .357Sig can barely be seen in a .40 mag for instance? Whereas in a .357 mag all rounds can clearly be seen. Second: the followers are very different in appearance. The .40 follower #6 presents itself "higher" out of the front of an empty mag than the .357 follower #1 does. In fact, unless I'm mistaken, the followers found in all .357 Glock mags, Klinton or standard, for all models is the same #1 follower. Third: you will also notice the cutout in the mag body for the portion of the follower that actuates the slide stop lever is much shallower in the .357 mag than the .40 mag. If I've left anything out, feel free to add to this list. :) ;c
