View Full Version : New P45 Anybody? ddmau 09-18-2005, 22:00 Well, the Kahr P45 began shipping about three weeks ago...anybody seen one, or bought one yet? Enquiring minds want to know.... Kirkcdl 09-18-2005, 23:27 I got to fondle one yesterday- http://www.glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=435179 elgoatropo 09-19-2005, 16:54 better have one, should you encounter the dreaded Super Nazi. cjblackmon 09-19-2005, 17:06 I hope I don't get too much hate responses for or offend anyone for this but I think it (P45) looks ugly. It looks like a Glock 17's sibling. It's the large grip that bugs me. PM45? 4 rounds + 1 in the chamber? You never know? mlm1219 09-20-2005, 21:14 Originally posted by cjblackmon I hope I don't get too much hate responses for or offend anyone for this but I think it (P45) looks ugly. Kirkcdl 09-20-2005, 21:20 mlm,the Kahr website photo must be a photographers error.I thought the same thing, but when I held the P45 it seemed proportionally the same as my K40,just a little larger. Starbuck 09-23-2005, 07:05 I bought the P45 last weekend at a gun show ( 9/17/05). I took it to the range monday and put about 50 rounds of wwb 230g downrange. It looks almost like the P9 and fires great out of the box. No real problem with the recoil considering it weighs 20.25 ounces. I put some magsafe rounds in the clip for carrying and it weighs in at 24 ounces loaded. I put on a slip on rubber grip and it is easy to carry being only 1 " wide. So far so good. cjblackmon 09-23-2005, 07:41 Originally posted by Starbuck I bought the P45 last weekend at a gun show ( 9/17/05). Having a 1" thick pistol and weighing in at 20oz. really aids with concealed carry. A 1911 in Kahr package. Good luck with it. Starbuck 09-23-2005, 07:53 I was surprised with the recoil being so average considering the lite weight. I went to right my Kahr P40 Covert and it seemed to have more recoil snap than the .45. Most of my friends prefer the .45 for daily carry but here in Florida with t-shirt and shorts I was glad to get the lite Kahr. I use a 3 inch belly-band and have carried all this week and it really disappears under my shirt. I think Kahr really has the right combination of weight--calibre--recoil--and concealibility for the average person to carry a great knock-down daily carry gun. Did I mention I got it at a great price? Try one when you can. 00Spy 09-23-2005, 11:13 A 1911 in Kahr package. Uh,no. If it is in a Kahr package, it most definitely isn't a 1911. It is just another .45 acp, DAO, that is nothing like a 1911 except in being semi-auto. cal45 09-23-2005, 12:01 Starbuck Which vendor did you buy the Kahr P45 from? Curious because they all seem to travel the FL Gun Show circuit and I know one will be coming to Orlando soon. Was it Weapon's Unlimited? Also - if you don't mind can you tell us what your price was? Thanks! cjblackmon 09-23-2005, 12:45 Originally posted by 00Spy Uh,no. If it is in a Kahr package, it most definitely isn't a 1911. Starbuck 09-23-2005, 13:09 I bought the gun new--with box, extra clip, papers, etc., from "Only the Best" from Pompano Beach, FL., for a little over $600.00. They sent me the box after the show by FedEx and I got it in 3 days. They are good people and I usually find them at the Suncoast Gun Show. cjblackmon 09-23-2005, 15:03 Originally posted by Starbuck I bought the gun new--with box, extra clip, papers, etc., from "Only the Best" from Pompano Beach, FL., for a little over $600.00. He hooked me up with an attorney friend of his who was able to write me up a Firearms Trust/Revocable Living Trust so that I can buy Class III weapons without having the Sheriff Sign Off on the Form 4 (Which ours in Tampa Will Not DO), or the hassle of keeping up a Corporation every year. I'm getting a Bowers Can from him for my Mac 10. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
