Laser for my Glock

I'm sure this has been discussed before... but...

I have no night sights or laser on my main home defense gun (my Glock 23). While evaluating my options, I've been thinking a laser would be the best for me. Especially because in home defense situations, you want your eyes on the perp, and not the sights. Also, lots of times one can't get a good stance and sight picture.

But I can't find a single school or book that doesn't rail against "buck-rogers s***". Anybody here a real LEO or read some real defense trainer who likes lasers? Is it just a macho thing to say they are no good? I am really a good shot, but I am thinking a LaserMax may really help in a time of stress.

If your G23 has accessory rail, get an Insight M6. You will have both light and laser.

Law Enforcement does not rely heavily on laser because the laser sight may deviate from shoot to shoot as it contains many fine adjustment. The fixed sights are usually more reliable in terms of precision. The only exception is the shield person in a tactical line up, the laser on the pistol helps the shield person to see the impact point.
