I'm not sure of the release date of the original, but the new ones have accesory rails.

Hey Sledge,Don't worry about new mod.There all nice.They seem to have a gen number like colt has. I believe mine is a 3rd not sure? It has the finger groves but no rail. I'd Love to buy every generation they make in ea,cal!:)
