I am thinking of getting into local IDPA shooting events for the first time, and had a few questions about holsters. Can anyone tell me if a Tuckers "Answer" can be used for competition? Is IWB frowned upon? I was thinking that using the "answer" would keep things more "real life" for me during competition. Any feedback is greatly appreciated

According to the new rule book, all IWB holsters are approved for competition in IDPA. An IWB isn't the fastest but it is more real life. The only thing I frown on in regards to IWB holsters are shooters that insist on aiming the muzzle at their midsection while trying to re-holster. For safety I like to see shooters use a holster that they can get a good safe firing grip on. IWB can be safely used but you have to think more about what you are doing.
IWB is Fine (Legal)- you will find most people don't use them for IDPA. Kydex OWB tends to be faster for most people.

The club had 51 shooters in September and I did see several IWB on the range. Come on by... and burn some powder..
Yup the tucker answer is fine for IDPA use. I use the Speed slide from tucker for IDPA.
