I posted about my purchase of a SA Ultra Compact SS yesterday... my first 1911.
Today, I ordered 2 WC 47 Officers model 8rd mags (via Midway), 200 rounds of Remington UMC 230gr FMJs (via Natchez) for practice, and 50 rounds of Doubletap 230gr HPs (via Dbltp) for defense.
Grant-it, the wife will want a divorce after all this spending (about $1100.00 since 1500 hours yesterday), but I think I have an addiction problem now... is that an 'excuse'?!?!
In 9 days... in 9 days...

I hope you have a nice garage... you might consider a high quality sleeping bag and a spare alarm clock... pick up a coffee maker and toaster for the garage as well...
You might have a chance with the " I did it for you to keep you safe " line of thought... but some women seen to just laugh and slam the door at that point.. The " I bought this gun for you " seems to have good success... the down side of course is that she might actually love the 1911 and then you are really screwed.....
She might surprise you with not being too angry ... actually little response at all... you are expected to do the same when you realize that her new gucci shoes were 400 dollars a pair and came in three colors that she liked with her new leather coat.. ;P

* days now huh?? Congrats man. I had one that was V10 ported, got stolen a few weeks ago. I've got a 0 day just wake up to get my Wilson Combat Classic from my FFL, I share your excitement. As far as being addicted to gun buying? I am in the same boat, I just take my lumps and move on, lol. Good Luck!!

My garage aint too bad... my dobes stay out there during the day... built the boy a bed (cause he tears up standard beds) and the girl's got a circular bed to herself... both are fairly comfortable, actually.
The wife is truly a great woman, and while she'll roll her eyes and complain about the large purchase a bit, she knows it gives me some happiness so she lets it slide to a degree.
I'll take her on a nice vacation next year as 'payment' for her understanding!

About the ported v10... I shot one the other day... for some reason, my teeth vibrated when firing it. I assume its because some of the blast is directed upwards, not out front.
