First of all, Howdy, I'm new to the forum.
Bought my PM9 yesterday, got it home, disasembled it and lubed it up. Went to the range today (to pick up an XD 3" that was coming in for me) and fired about 150 rounds through it. Only one of the first five magazines went through without a hitch.:( The other 4 had at least a failure to eject or to fully chamber the round :(
But the remaining 15-20 magazines fed just fine with no problems :) :)
Came home today, disasembled it (it got a lot more dirty on the inside than my H-K USP that i fired about 100 rounds through this afternoon) oiled it up and will go back this weekend to run another 100-200 rounds through it!

I recommend not trusting your life a gun that is not 100% reliable

What do you shoot? Your name is XD>Glock2me (XD is more than Glock to me), you advatar is a Springfield XD, but at your quote it says you have a Glock 20 and Glock 30?
i had a pm9 also, traded it in on a p9 which i like alot better, the pm9 was not as reliable is i would have liked, shot fmj okay but would not shoot personal defense rds very reliable.,....scowall

I recently bought a PM9 also. I have shot 500 rounds of three different types of 115 gr fmj ammo. The gun has not missed a beat. I have alternated between both the magazines that came with the gun. I have used both methods to release the slide. Most of the time I shoot fairly slow and the gun shoots where i point it. I have also emptied the magazines as fast as I could. I didn't clean the gun prior to shooting it the first time. I did clean it after 300 rounds and again after 500 rounds. The gun is easy to conceal and comfortable to carry. I carried the whole time we were on the run from Rita.

I don't. I'm currently awaiting my CCW permit so am carrying nothing at the time being. Am going back to the range tonight to put another 100-200 rounds in the PM9 and also run through 100 or so with my as-yet-to-be-fired XD .40 subcompact.

It's with anything... Do you like Ford or Chevy? We all have our preferences.

Good for you! I'm glad that your's is working great! So do you feel confident in it now for CCW (when you get your permit)???

I shot 100 rounds of CorBon 115 gr HP this evening. That is a total of 600 rounds and not a single problem. I need to try some cheaper hollow points so I can shoot 400 to 500 rounds of that. The Corbons are what I have in my Glocks but they are not cheap. I used both magazines and fired double taps, triple taps and emptied several magazines as fast as i could pull the trigger; which all shots were COM on a human size target at 7 yards.
i am carrying the pm9 without the hollow points right now. After i shoot several hundred rounds of some kind of hollow points, then i will carry it with hollow points.

I feel much more comfortable with it than the first trip. Not as comfortable with my H&K USP (as i'm as accurate with it @ 25 yards as I am with either my XD 3" or PM9 @ 7 yards), but then it would be hard to carry that concealed.
As I've probably got another 30 days before the permit shows up, I'll at least go to the range 2 more times and put another 150-200 rounds through it. It gets tiresome filling up the 6count and 7 count mags though ;f
After your 200 round "Break-In" period I would suggest cleaning and lubing the PM9 and then running 200 rounds of whatever ammo you are going to carry for self defense through your PM9 in 50 round increments.
Clean and lube between each 50 rounds since you will not be firing 200 rounds at one time in a self defense situation. I carry a Kahr PM9 24/7 and it is 100% reliable/dependable. The thing to remember about the PM9 is, it needs it's lube!
I think you made a great choice in the PM9. If you carry it daily then clean and oil it weekly.

They say that Wild Bill Hickok cosidered reliabilty so important (he shot cap and ball) that he reportedly fired , cleaned, and reloaded each gun every morning to gaurantee their use and just in case he needed to use them that day.
Cleaning once a week for 24/7 carry is not a bad idea.

The gun that is 100% reliable is the gun that hasn't been built yet.
I bought a PM9 several months ago, and have over 1K rounds through it already. It has had some hiccups, but they are few and far between. Nothing that I wouldn't attribute to dirt, bad ammo or cosmic rays.
I had an ammo problem last time out with my G22 and G23 and they were jam-o-matics. Definitely not 100% reliable, but the cause was one of the myriad that can plague a mechanical device.

I shot 200 rounds last night through the pm9. That is 800 rounds and I have not had a problem. However, i did notice tonight, while i was cleaning the gun, that the barrel has a pit or something in it. I guess I will call Kahr tomorrow and see what they say. The gun has been flawless but the barrel should not be pitted. What would cause the barrel to have a pit/cavity in it.
Is there an all steel Kahr that is the same dimensions as the pm9. i would like to have an all steel one that i could use with the holsters i have for the pm9.
thanks
