It happens to all of us. But as you get better and develop a better mental game it happens less.

I beat Rob Leatham on two stages at the 1992 North American IPSC Championship in Canada. So for that to happen he had to be shooting really bad and I must have been shooting really good.

you know thats not all that hard really. if you shot enough area and nationals matchs you'll be there when they have a problem. not a brag but i've beaten all the big guys at on time or an other.
but like Matt said they do it a lot less than the average guy.

when you say problem.. do you mean, jam, ect. or running with no "obvious" failures and you still beat them?
it's uselly misses that get them. although i have had a couple top 10 stages in which i've beaten some pretty good shooters. but miss count, i've got creamed on a lot more stages where i had more than my share of misses.

Thats what happens to me when I try to shoot to fast Thats why Ive lost a few here lately.
Everyone has a bad day, stage even match. This years IDPA nationals, one of the people I consider to be one of the greatest shooters in the world (Dave Sevigny) totally tanked the standards, (Missed head shots.
It is how a bad stage or day is recovered from that seperates the Champions.
