Love this gun even more than my Series 70 Colt Government. Light as as a feather, the perfect CCW. By the way, I've gotten a LOT of positive feedback on my Cocobolo grips. I have an identical set for sale if anyone is interested. Cut for an ambi safety.

So far 200 rounds of ball, SWC and not one failure. Flawless. I may replace however the stock Novak sights with Novak Tritiiums. These old eyes ain't what they used to be. :)
WOW...that is beautiful!!

I have an all black 1911Sc. I went straight to a set of Crimson Trace laser grips. The model with front strap activation is great. Not as sexy as your pair of CoCo grips but, in low light, they have it all over tritium (IMHO, of course). :)

Send me a private message. I don't think I am supposed to be mentioning prices here, not sure. First come, first served. A couple of folks have asked already.

Sold or not, is it possible to find more? I really like the two tone in this case...is that factory (safety, beavertail, mag catch, etc. in blue).
Thanks!

The only thing after-market is the ambi safety and the grips. If you want the grips, send me a message. I'll check my computer tomorrow. I'm beat and I'm going to bed! :)

Not nearly as stunning as her however. :)
Where did you get those grips? Those are beautiful! So is the gun! My dad has the black sc and loves it. I didn't know there was a stainless version too!
I've got to get some of those grips though!

I am the lucky winner of the extra sexy grips contest! I just received them today and WOW. They are sexy. Now I just need the 1911sc to put them on!
Richard is a pleasure to deal with also.

Ah shucks. You're making me blush.:)
I wish S&W would come out with a scandium CCO-type 1911.
BTW, how hard is it to work on scandium? It's my understanding that S&W actually uses a aluminum frame with a bit of scandium mixed in.
Would it be possible to bobtail a S&W scandium frame?
Would it even be possible to cut it down to an officers length grip, or am I really dreaming on this one?

Latest upgrade is Novak Tritium bar sight (rear)and Novak Tritium dot on the front. I found the 2 dot rear from the factory "busy". The combination of the Tritium bar and the Tritium front is a much cleaner look and easier to pickup for these old eyes of mine. Recommend.

Wow, a lot of private messages on where to get the grips! OK, here we go...the grips you see below are from Gary Atkin of Boulder, CO. They are from his "Rings of Saturn" collection. Gary is a great guy, buy with complete confidence - especially now that I provided (I was the guinea pig) the exact cut measurements for an ambi safety - just enough. What ARE those measurements you ask? 9/16 inch high and 5/16 inch wide. Should be the industry standard IMHO.:)
But I digress. Gary's email address is:
geatkinjr@lycos.com
Tell him Richard (that's me) sent you.

I bought a stainless Scandium Commander just like yours tonight. I'd seen them on Smith's website and had been looking around for a couple of months for one the shops around here to get one in. Scottsdale Gun Club got one in a couple of weeks ago, I looked at it, pawed it, drooled over it, and I finally broke out the plastic tonight and got it. I put 200 rounds through it and I absolutely love it. Great looking grips you've got on it.
I went to the gunstore today, and they had one for $760.95. Seems like a pretty good price to me. I sure wanted to leave with it today, but don't have the money right now. :(

I have a scandium .44 Smith. Love the alloy.
I might have to pick one of the 1911s up sometime. Very sweet piece.
Just have to be convinced it will eat any ammo like my Glocks.
