I like my Springfield a LOT but I would still take the used Gold Cup if I was given a choice.

My cup of tea! I have both and those two are my favorites. If it is a "basic" Sprinfield then the Gold Cup would be a no-brainer. But if it's a loaded Springfield then you looking at apples to apples. Most Gold Cups use the series 80 system while the SA uses the 70 series. Also the newer stainless models have a round top slide with bomar sights while the blue ones do not.
I personally would get the Colt. But I like Colts much more than SAs. I have had 4 SAs, and eventually sold them to finance more Colts. Thats just me though.

would buy the used colt and run it a while and see how you like it... I bet you could get 90 percent of your money back easily if you don't like it.. The colt will hold value better and be more worthy of upgrades should you choose to make some later..
