I posted a question about my MK9 model # 9093BX a day or two ago. It was strange because my slide is marked as "Stainless" under the black coating. I called Kahr this morning and they said that they did not know why the slide was marked stainless, but it was certainly a BOX model regardless.
Well, tonight, I get a reply from Dottie w/ Kahr stating:
"Normally the MK9BX has a 4140 carbon steel slide with a black oxide (gun blue) coating. We recently needed to fulfill an order for these guns and we did not have sufficient 4140 slides to do so. We used stainless steel slides and had them black passivated (gun blue does not adhere to stainless)"
She also stated that my gun was worth considerably more than an economy model since it is not one! So, for $380 plus tax - I got a unique gun! I have half a mind to go buy another one from the dealer that has them in stock!
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!!
