I think manufacturers have reached the point where they either won't release hp/torque specs or purposely under-rate them to keep the Insurace industry/hysterical types in the dark.

No sir, I don't like it.

The styling that is. I'm sure it's fast but ;0

I'll wait for the new busa.

And you really need 1400cc power???

Talk about overkill...

It's rather interesting to see the Japanese putting speed governors on these bikes and then make them even more powerful. Kind of like the Germans and their cars.

The bike itself isn't bad looking, just a bit generic, that's all. However, the performance will speak for itself.

While someone out there will be profitting from making chips that will bypass the speed governors...

Ironically, that's what I would do with my BMW after I replace the cans with Laser...

Assuming IIRC that a ZX12 is 160-170 horsepower. I wonder if a ZX14 will be near 200hp?

We'll find out soon enough when the magazines start to do test rides and dynoing them. I can see the 1400-cc motor cracking the 200-hp mark. After all, the new Gixxer 1000 motor is rated at 178-hp at the crank.

After reading about the bike (http://www.kawasaki.com/product_detail.asp?product=112&category=2&tag=motorcycle) I'm betting it'll have <175rwhp. Also keep in mind the "1400" is 1352cc or 53cc more than a Busa. A "big bore" Busa is 1397cc and only when heavily breathed on rarely breaks 200 all-motor rwhp.

I hope it looks better than the pics show so far. I think Kawi went to the BMW School of Ugly Motorcycle Design.

As for a new Busa.........Bold New Graphics. I like my bike just fine thanks. I think I'll just stick with what I got.

Well......maybe add a turbo....;f

I like the looks. Not INCREDIBLE, but nice. I just have no use for something that insane :)

Kawasaki killed the ZRX musclebike for that BUSA beater... bad decision.

Not really. They've always had ZX and ZRX. They just upgraded the ZX right now.

Some better pics and specs on the ZX14.

It looks a little better than the original pics I saw. I stand by my HP spec though.

I knew it was only a matter of time. All the big Ninja's have been the top dog until the Hayabusa came out. Kawasaki has a proud tradition that their road bikes are the fastest going back to the KZ900. I don't like the looks of this ZX-14 but I'm positive it's a blast to ride.
