I dunno,so you can shoot 357sig out of your .40!??? What do you want to be convinced of? Try it for yourself and see. I have a .40 barrel for my G31 so I can shoot .40 out of it. Kind of like having two guns for less than $600.

Because you have an innate curriousity for all things new and interesting? Because you've heard so much about this incredible round that you just have to try it out for yourself? Because guns are one of your hobbies and you figure the more you know about them the more you'll enjoy this past time? Because a guy can't have too many guns?

A better question would be,"Why not?"
Poor ammo availibility...uh, wait, you can get anything you want online.
Higher ammo price...not really, again, get it online.
More recoil...no,recoil is about the same as the 9mm+p's and 40's everyone will tell you to get. Recoild is subjective at best.
Muzzle blast...ok, ya got me on this one. There are few people who would argue the 357Sig's blast. But that is what earplugs are for. And indoors it is really not that much worse than the +p 9's.
So, you tell me, why not a 357 Sig?
...To experience for yourself the awesome power of this round out of your same'ol-same'ol Glock 40. Seriously, the 357 Sig round leaves the barrel so fast, the flinch from muzzle blast out of my 23C doesn't even have time to mess with the point of impact! Loud, yes.
But in the 27, I shoot only 357Sig now...it's my off duty carry set up.

I bought a 357 Sig barrel for my Sig Pro 2340 on ebay for just over $100 and now it's my weapon of choice for carry. I'm impressed with the ballistics of this high velocity round and it's the reason I bought the barrel for it. I also didn't need 3 pistols chambered for the .40 S&W so I changed that with a different barrel.
WHY? Got the answer, DOUBLETAP! Ran the 125gr Gold Dot out a Glock 31 stock at speeds between 1580 and 1600fps with around 700fps of energy. I do not care what people think, that is awesome to me. The muzzle blast is not that bad. There is very little if any flash with DT ammo and it is match grade.
You should be able to get well over 1600fps with your 35 and when the new rounds that keep getting pushed back hit the street wow!
The 115gr will probably leave the barrel of a G35 at around 1700fps + easy. And the 147gr will likely get 1400fps out the 31 barrel and hopefully about 20" of penetration.
Why? Because as the DEA man said..."I'm the only one in this room professional enough to handle a Glock Fortie!!!"
I've dropped Lone Wolf barrels in my G27 and G22 and have not looked back. I love the round.
Plus if it is a requirement you shoot yourself before your professional enough to handle "Forties", I'm glad I switched.
Oh, and it sounds bad too. At the range this old guy peeked around the lane to see watch I was shooting that made so much noise only to see my converted G27. The look on his face was priceless.
Go for it. I prefer the 357Sig to the 40 myself.
