Rough Springfield smoothed out

One of my SA milspecs has been rough in racking the slide since day one. I thought it would smooth out and if not just send it to S.A. But tonight I tried a little Fluff and buff on it. 500 grit paper then 650 and finally 800. Don't know if that was over the top or not but it's like butter now. It's will still probablly be going back as it has some nasty burrs that stab and lacerate me when it's carried. S.A. said they'd take ALL the sharp edge down on it and repark it. But I plan on shooting it tommorrow first thing.

Where on the gun, specifically, did you apply the paper?

How many rounds have you actually shot through it?

I wouldn't have fluffed and buffed until shooting several hundred rounds through it.

I'm curious too, how many rounds before you did the sanding?
