Ok, so I'm in the market for a new carry piece. My current G23 is getting to big, as I'm getting smaller. (Losing a lot of weight!) ;f

Buddy of mine got a 226 with the DAK trigger system and I instantly fell in love with it. I have my heart set on a P239, but, I really want the DAK. I know they offer the P239SAS, it's a tad out of my price range though.

How long until the P239 comes out with DAK trigger? With the new trigger system, will there also be a price increase? I'm hoping to clear some of these questions up.

I believe the DAK P239 is out now. They will be hard to keep in stock. I saw 2 P226 and a P229 at my local gun shop. All were DAK's. The trigger pull was smooth and light. I think all Sigs went up in price recently.

After doing a little researching, I found a NIB P239SAS for a little over $700. I really do like the way it looks and am thinking about that. Ugh! This is the only thing I hate about being a firearms enthusiust!

DonGlock26 is right...

The P239 DAK is out. You can get either the SAS model or the plain black P239 DAK's.

I love mine in .40. Very accurate, too and pretty nice to shoot as well. But my Glock 26 is what I carry more often now because of the shorter grip. My sig still gets a good amount of CCW, but when I dont want to wear a gun, i go with the glock (usually weather/clothing choice).

I might consider a P239DAK later. The other DAk pistols in the Sig line up are priced the same at the DA/SA models. I'll wait till the P239DAK prices adjust to the P239 DA/SA price before I consider it. Now the P239SAS is worth the extra bills due to the wood, melt job, and two tone treatment. Congrats on your future piece. Let us know when you finally get it in.

The SIG Rep was at my local FFL shop all day yesterday… I wasn’t able to meet with him until 3:30pm however, but spent the last 2-1/2 hours with him. He brought in 15 different SIGs for us to take a look at (Along with the standard free promotional stuff. ^c)… a lot of them featuring the DAK trigger. (The DAK's costs no more then the DA/SA's… if you see a price difference it’s ALL on your local FFL shop’s shoulders.) SIG 239DAK’s are DEFINITELY out & for sale… just really popular right now is all. (FYI, SIG’s are now only available factory direct to FFL shops… no more distributors (middle-men) for SIG.) The Rep’s own personal gun was a SIG .40 cal. 239SAS with the DAK trigger… nice gun, but it’s grip was as thick as a GLOCK’s with that wood on there… while looking closely at the slide on his SAS I noticed little spots of surface rust though… nice, eh?

(Our SIG Rep is an actual serious shooter… that’s VERY refreshing as most Reps seem to be just salesmen & nothing more.)

I must say that I’m REALLY impressed with the DAK trigger system. I made sure that a “non-fancy” 226DAK 9mm w/light rail made it on our order (That’s the one I’d want for CCW as I’ve never cared for the feel of the 229 & I’d rather have a Kahr K9 or Kahr T9 (see attached chart for that reason) over any 239.)… I’m thinking that 226 will never make it to the gun store’s shelf. :) This DAK trigger of SIG’s is the ONLY thing that will seriously get me back into another SIG. I’ve owned a few in the past & have always thought SIGs were a GREAT gun, but just never cared for the whole 1st long double action pull & de-cocker deal.

Last time I checked the stats, the P239 was very close to the size of a G19:

LENGTH 6.85in/174mm
HEIGHT 5.00in/127mm
WIDTH 1.18in/30mm
Barrel LENGTH 4.02in/102mm
WEIGHT 20.99oz/595g

My sig 239 in .40 and Glock 23 are almost the same size to my eye. The loaded weights are even similar. I carry the sig because I love the Houge grip and am much more accurate with it. Sig mag is easier to carry as a spare because its thin, but I never carry spare with the Glock 23 having 13+1.

They didnt have a date, but said they have the parts, have it debugged so its just a matter of time.

I love my G19 but comparing the two are like apples and oranges. My G19 is a super high capacity CCW. It shoots well and I love it. That being said, my P239 is also a nice, heavier, super shooting weapon. Matter of fact I shoot it better than any of my handguns. It's not small but it's inherent accuracy is the best I have encountered in handguns. I love my G19 and my P239 for their differences and they both remain my main CCWs. I'll never trade either.

Is the Sig 239 much thinner than the Glock 23? Have you seen the Gen 2 on the Sig, is it thinner than the stantard 239? Thanks,

DAK has been available on the 239 for years.

Great first post.

Any reason why you would bring back a five-year old thread?

it's a good gun that gets discovered everyday by new shoppers, hence the ressurection of a 5 year old thread isn't a bad thing
