View Full Version : Good price on mags RMTactical 09-27-2005, 14:25 I've ordered from these guys before, they are good. http://dsgarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=289 USMC79to83 09-27-2005, 15:05 WOW, Great Price Thanks, Bro Sierra 09-27-2005, 15:44 Good price, good product. It seems that the price of new 30 rounders is dropping. Last week I ordered some new OKAY 30 rounders over at Arfcom for $11.00. Last week I ordered some new OKAY 30 rounders over at Arfcom for $11.00. Well, it's about time wouldn't you say? The AWB has been dead for a year now. I'm lovin it! We just can't get complacent like we all did 11 years ago... I wasn't gonna get an AR-10 because mags were so pricey, but since the ban ended, AR-10 mags are much cheaper (still expensive, but not nearly as bad). switch625 09-27-2005, 21:13 Tapco recently had them on sale for $11ea. When funds allow I'm gonna pick up another ten on sale. Sierra 09-27-2005, 21:24 Well this time around I will not have a lack of high capacity mags for any firearm I own. Get them while you can. Stealther 09-27-2005, 21:43 What's the coating on them like? I made the mistake of buying some that had been poorly refinished, the finish would rub off like graphte when I handled them. ElConquistador 09-27-2005, 22:54 That is a good deal but for $12 you can get the Teflon coated ones. I'm not sure how much better the Teflon holds up but the mil-spec dry-film coating is pretty fragile. I just ordered some 30rd D&H w/magpul orange followers for $14 from www.talonarms.com They are D&H but have a DSG floorplate on them. I think you have to buy 10 or more to get that price. These are essentially the best aluminum mags money can buy. These are D&H, essentially LaBelle mags. JinVA 09-27-2005, 23:26 I just got my $11 tapco teflon coated mags. good times! ElConquistador 09-27-2005, 23:45 I guess I'm confused. I thought that the dry-film was different than the Teflon. The link you posted says only "dry-film", nothing about Teflon. Elsewhere on the site they list a grey Teflon mag but are sold out. I would never argue with the resident ar15 guru but I'm almost positive that the link you posted is for the older non-Teflon finish. glock19_fan 09-28-2005, 02:44 Thanks Gorelicks. Do you recommend the enhanced Anti-tilt Follower also? And what's the diff between the Ranger Plate vs the magpul? Is the Ranger Plate a lot better? I don't care for the ranger plate or regular magpuls. As far as the magpul followers goes, I think they are overrated. I've never had an issue with the green followers. switch625 09-28-2005, 18:22 Originally posted by Stealther What's the coating on them like? D&H mags with the teflon finish are the best available, like gorelicks said. Teflon holds up a whole lot better than the rest of the usgi mags. switch625 09-28-2005, 18:23 Originally posted by GoreLicks You might be right... Still a good price on good mags though. The magpuls and ranger plates(glorified magpul) are good for fishing mags out of a pouch, other than that they don't serve any purpose. Ditto on the followers, just more gucci gear designed to seperate you from your money. helidonna 09-28-2005, 21:41 Gore good deal thanks, Switch you are right on about seperating you from your money... DJ Niner 09-29-2005, 02:57 Originally posted by switch625 The magpuls and ranger plates(glorified magpul) are good for fishing mags out of a pouch, other than that they don't serve any purpose. I beg to differ; if you hit the mag release and dump a mag out of the weapon over a hard surface (concrete, rocks, etc.) these will also protect the mag's base from being damaged on impact. They can also protect your hand during high-speed reloads or tap/rack drills. glock19_fan 09-30-2005, 00:40 How do these mags compare to the D&H magazines? (http://www.glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=440223) Are the Tapco mags better quality? Thanks. Yes, the ones from Tapco are a better deal because they are teflon finished (that is, assuming shipping is the same). Just ignore this thread... I suck... http://www.ar15.com/images/smilies/icon_smile_dissapprove.gif ;f glock19_fan 09-30-2005, 01:35 Thanks Gorelicks. I was going to buy the ones you recommended because I was so depressed at missing out the Tapco mags. I'm glad the Tapco mags are back at $11, but I really am glad you posted your good buy also. ;c ;c RMTactical 09-30-2005, 01:52 It's all good. I would personally prefer the teflon coated mags, but the ones I posted would actually work just as good. So what if the finish is more likely to come off... I have a few that have some pretty bad wear (picked them up during the ban), but they function 100%. Plus, I have even refinished a few. They turned out real nice. I bought a few of the teflon coated mags from dsgarms (they were black coated instead of grey though), but I also bought 20 from bravocompany at about $13 a pop (with shipping included). Tapco has the best price I've ever seen on the teflon ones. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
