View Full Version : Looking for More Trigger Time....
.... so I'll be attending some local USPSA/IPSC matches.
Now comes the fun part. A few more mags for my G20 will make life a little easier(not having to stuff mags as often between stages). My question is... which seller currently has the best price on Glock G20 standard(NEVER call them high capacity, 10 rounders are RESTRICTED capacity) 15 round mags.
I know, I know, a G34 or G35 is the preferred vehicle for many, but I've already got a G20 and a few extra mags are easier on the budget than a new pistol.
Any feedback(helpful, that is) will be appreciated.

with your mag question, heck shoot what you got.. Lot's of folks like the G20 and once you get classified there's no reason you can't be competative in your class at matches.. Heck and it's fun..
I only stopped shooting IDPA cause it was not very cost effective for me and honestly I just didn't have the funds or time for both.
Have fun, shoot straight.
Jeff.
Hunterjbb,
Thanks for the reply.
My thought was to "shoot what you got", in thinking of using my G20 for IPSC/USPSA. I already have 5 15rd. post-'94 LE mags and a pre'94 NFML 15rd. mag, but my thinking was to pick up another 3 post-'94 15rd. mags. This was I wouldn't be spending as much time stuffing mags between stages when shooting an IPSC/USPSA match.
I was trying to see who might have any leads to the least expensive choice(s) currently available. CDNN isn't that and neither are most of the other resources that come quickly to mind. Since the original post, I did a little digging and found Botach to have the lowest cost. Only thing is that more than a few reports are out that sometimes Botach has been less than top notch in delivering service and product.

I have them in stock if you need them.
... and ordered three(3) 15rd post-'94 FML mags from Botach. If they don't come through in the manner a business would be expected, I'll post it not only here, but on every other forum I know.
Thanks for the info CGR, I'll keep it in mind and add your site to my Glock "Favorites".

I've had good orders from Botach and bad.. and the bad are really bad.. just so happens the worst was with Glock mags.. but it was early on just after the ban was lifted and everyone was short..
I ended up ordering from Glockmiester, more expensive but i got them in a couple of days.. Matt at CGR is a good guy to deal with also.
Check "Wholesale Hunter" out to, they sometimes have pretty good pricing.. I've ordered a fair amount of stuff from them and have not had any real bad experiences..
Up to you on how many mags you need but I only use four for limited shooting and although I have 6 for L-10 rarely do you have to reaload all of them and you generally have plenty of time.
Good luck.
Jeff.
Just received an order status from Botach in reference to the three 15rd post-'94 FML G20 mags that were ordered on 10-04/05. Let it be duly noted that the Botach web site did have posted that Botach was closed 10-4 & 10-5 of 2005 for the Jewish New Year.
Botach included the UPS 3-day tracking number(which is not yet recognized by UPS's delivery tracking web daemon). I'll post the results, in relation to merchandise and delivery time. Just one more reference source on Botach.
Thanks to all that have posted responses.

my philosophy is a little different.... I shoot both IDPA and USPSA, and love the competition. But, I carry daily, keep guns at home for self defense, and see the main underlying benefit of competition as becoming a better tactician/shooter.
So, I shoot my carry gun, which varies between a G17 and G19.
+1 on "shoot what you got"
Apps4Me,
Yes, that's basically what seems to be occurring, in that a number of fellow IDPA competitors(as well as myself) are moving to include IPSC/USPSA.
I too CCW as normal course, many times utilizing my G20(yes, a full sized G20 can be daily CCW'ed). Actually, the G20 splits time with my Beretta 96 Inox Compact L. I compete with either the G20 or a Beretta 96 Inox Brigadier(in SSP in IDPA).
If you use a "game" to exorcise learning tactics, you will not be competitive(in winning the particular "game"), though you may(and should) improve one's shooting accuracy and familiarity with your chosen carry piece.
Shoot safe, shoot well!
