I'm a happy man. Just picked up my Bushmaser AR15 pistol. I can't believe anything this much fun is still legal!!!! Only problem I had with it was I took the flash suppressor off and the young lady two lanes down from me nearly p#ssed herself.
At any rate, I'm thinking about getting a red dot sight for my new toy. Having never bought one I was hoping to get some feedback from folks that do and what you like/dislike about any of them. I notice the price range on these things are pretty considerable. I realize you get what you pay for generally, I just want to know what I'm getting for the extra money.

Durability and coolness. ;)
I prefer the Aimpoint; others prefer the EOTech. An ACOG is impractical.
I can't say which to choose. If you search "which red dot" or "Aimpoint" or "EOTech" you'll find more than you care to read.
If it were me, I'd throw an Aimpoint CompM (older version) on an ARMS #22M68 and be done with it...

I would go with an Eotech. The 65 MOA circle around the dot makes the best CQB sight I have ever seen. Do you have buddies that have Eotech's and Aimpoints? I would try them both out and get the one you like best... after all that is what really counts here.

Have you considered the new Bushnell XLP low profile holographic sight? At $180 bucks it should do the trick. It uses AAA batteries.

Although I understand it's not available yet. I've heard around late Oct./Nov.
The new XLP is certainly an idea, although after shooting my M4gery at arm's length with the stock collapsed maybe the EoTech isn't the best idea. I'd go for a red dot - either one of the new Burris 135's with the 3moa dot, or any of the AimPoint family.

For an AR pistol I opted for a Dr. Optic or J-Point… they hold up VERY well for their small size & they’re lightweight for sure.

I put one of these: http://cmore.com/railway.html on our AR pistol, and I like it so much I'll probably get another for one of our AR rifles.
