View Full Version : What size first samco light mount to buy?
I am considering mounting a Brinkman Maxfire LX flashlight from Walmart on my AR-15. First Samco makes (2) different sizes, one for a streamlight scorpion and one for a surefire G2 light. Which one of these will fit my Brinkman Lx light best??

Measure the diameter of your light; here are the specs for each model:

Looks like if your light is just under 1 inch, then the FAS3 is the one you want; for 1" up to 1 and 1/16ths of an inch, then get the FAS2.
YOu can always make the light bigger. By that, I mean you can add material to a light so It fits snug in a larger hole.
I mounted a brinkman LX (the old style light) to a Glock magazine base plate (I had it sitting around), and I added some bycycle innertube to the light so it fit snug. It can be also thought of as a poor mans "shock isolated light" ;a (Do not take the last part to heart)

The Brinkmann, because of the rubber coating is fatter than the G2. The Brinkmann will not fit in my belt sheath for my G2. I think you probably want the larger one.
Thanks for everyone's advice and help.
