Stag Arms Lefty Models

Hey Everybody,

I was wondering what your opinions are of the lefty version of the Stag Arms AR? I'm not planning on buying one at this point but was interested in feedback from those that may have them.

My current AR is a Bushmaster and I love it. I have the ambi-safety and ambi-mag release so using it is a piece of cake.

To me the lefty model is a novel idea as the only significant difference is which side the shell is ejected.

JUst curious guys but do let me know what you think. Anything related to functionability, reliability and overall performance would be appreciated.

I think they are a good idea, but when it comes down to it, do you really want to have a different upper and bolt from everyone else? Plus, with the brass deflector, I can't see how you'd have a problem anyways.

I know a couple lefty's that shoot AR's and they both seem fine with the standard version.

I shoot all long guns left-handed, and I think after you add the two parts you named (lefty safety and mag release) to a normal AR, you are totally good-2-go. As said above, the modified parts needed to make the lefty upper work will never be as common as normal stuff (assuming they aren't a quickie modification of normal stuff), and a lefty shooting a normal AR with the above additions can actually do it MORE EFFICIENTLY than a righty. The lefty can see directly into the chamber without craning his head/neck around (big advantage for stoppage clearing and loading/clearing), and can activate the bolt catch/release with the tip of the trigger finger with practice (no reaching-over or rolling the weapon to slap the release as the poor right-handers must do).

Buy normal AR, install lefty safety & mag release, then practice and excel, grasshopper.
