So I picked up this part-time job for something to do during the day now that my kids are in school full time. I will be alone while working at this sporting goods store during the day (which I live at anyway since I'm constantly there buying hockey stuff for both of my kids, which now is really cheap I might add ;f), and when the owner brought up the topic of feeling uneasy if an "unusual" customer approached me, I told him I could protect myself in a HUGE way if he would allow it. He said to me, "You have a carry permit, don't you?" He told me he was thrilled to know that I would have that with me while working alone. Told me "that's awesome" and "wear it any time you want to" and just really highly encouraged me to carry while at work in his store. Also mentioned that he was glad I talked to him about it first so that he knows not to piss me off in any way, shape, or form. ;f
Just a cool story that I thought I'd share. :)
just high stick 'em
edited to add don't forget the spray.
Armed employees discourage the casual stick up artists. It is a shame so many business owners don't see the value of such deterence.
Good luck with the new job.

Congratulations on the job and a "thinks for himself" employer!
Bet you're glad you stuck it out with the PM9!
Mine's fixing to hit the road with me for a few weeks. Too handy and flexible to leave home without.
Good luck to you.

GirlWithGlock, with the above quote, are you going to be concealed? I'm thinking "yes" but then again it is a sporting goods store and not a Walmart.

It will be concealed as the store I'm working at is a sporting goods store that unfortunately does not include guns and ammo. It specializes in hockey stuff along with a lot of stuff for other sports.
While Minnesota is an open carry state, I prefer to keep it concealed.

Congrats! I'm glad that the boss was cool about it and that you'll be able to protect yourself while working alone. Make sure you check the back or side doors, just read a thread in another forum where a guy got robbed at work, robber entered through unlocked side door. Stay Safe ;f
PS - Nice ankle rig! ;)
Good for your boss. I would have carried anyway, unless there were signs posted or a policy that you signed regarding employees and weapons.
On a side note, I don't leave home without my PM9 either.
