I went to a somewhat local gunstore today and purchased a brand new RRA lower and Elite CAR4 upper for $660 OTD. I thought I did o.k.
I also got my EOTech for $255 and my RRA Dominator mount for $130.
So far, I'm right at $1000 for my new AR. Now I am planning on adding a Surefire railed forearm and a Surefire 900 light/foregrip. I tried one of the 900's out in the shop and I think it may be one of the coolest gadgets I've seen.

I'd go KAC or Daniel Defense before I went Surefire; personally, I find the other two more stable and have an overall better appeal.
I'll second the M900 though. It's an awesome light! I love mine! Make sure you get the one with the ARMS throwlevers though instead of that imposter with the thumbscrews. It costs a little more, but it's much easier to take on and off. During the day, you'll find yourself using a traditional VFG more than the Surefire. I'd get a Tango Down, but that KAC is cheaper, no frills, and simple to mount/dismount.
What kind of lower did you get?
was it stripped?
if it was a complete lower, then A++ on price. Dealer must of bought in real bulk to get prices that low.

It is a complete lower, with two stage trigger. He deals a lot of RRA stuff. The day I called, he was just beginning a sale of RRA lowers.
My only concern is I don't think the barrel is chrome lined, which I prefer.
Does anyone else have an opinion on the Surefire quad rail system? The attractive point for me is its price.
Thanks

Exactly... price. I don't care for the surefire rail. I'd spend the extra money and get a LaRue or DD.

For a rail system, I would get the Midwest Industries or YHM, both 2 piece drop in systems. The top rail will be level with a flat top unlike with the Surefire, plus they are cheaper and are equal to or better quality wise.
