Ljunatic 10-01-2005, 16:30 Cabela's has them and If you shoot WOLF .223 , when you buy 500 rounds from Cabela's it comes in the plastic ammo cans at no charge Cabela's (http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/horizontal-pod.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/pod-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20712&rid=&indexId=cat20839&navAction=push&navCount=1&parentType=index&parentId=cat20839&id=0022898) USMCsilver 10-01-2005, 16:40 I get mine at Bass Pro. I use them for accessories and ammo. One each box, I take a sharpie and write caliber for ammo or gun type for accessories. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=56568&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults Note the price difference: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0034519227638a&type=product&cmCat=search&returnString=hasJS=true&_D%3AhasJS=+&QueryText=plano&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.22&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=plano&noImage=0&returnPage=search-results1.jsp EDIT: Okay, two different products. I have the ones with the trays; so yeah, they are a bit more expensive. If you're just wanting to keep ammo in them, then I'd go with Bass Pro's. If for accessories/cleaning supplies/parts, I'd go with Cabelas'. switch625 10-01-2005, 18:47 Thanks, I'll pick one up at BP. blkbd 10-03-2005, 18:31 I beleive thats a seasonal item at wal-mart and now that hunting season is here they should have them. switch625 10-03-2005, 19:20 Originally posted by blkbd I beleive thats a seasonal item at wal-mart and now that hunting season is here they should have them. I checked my local WM and nada. IIRC, they have the one that seals, the cheap one I bought at BP does not. I'll check Academy the next few days. -aK- 10-03-2005, 23:18 Originally posted by Ljunatic Cabela's has them and If you shoot WOLF .223 , when you buy 500 rounds from Cabela's it comes in the plastic ammo cans at no charge Cabela's (http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/horizontal-pod.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/pod-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20712&rid=&indexId=cat20839&navAction=push&navCount=1&parentType=index&parentId=cat20839&id=0022898) Wow... is it just me or is 1000 rounds of .223 with the box $125. 55 or 62gr HP or FMJ don't matter all same price? I haven't had the pleasure of buying a whole lot of this stuff yet from different sources but that seems like a really great price. ColSanders 10-04-2005, 17:24 Yeah, Cabelas has them. I prefer the steel ones that are airtight. I like the military ones better too. The only problem is that now that I'm out of the military they're a lot harder to find in pristine condition. I laugh every time I walk into Northern Tool and Equipment, and they have them with holes rusted in them for $7.00 What do they think I've been smoking?;j tag 10-18-2005, 08:09 Originally posted by YukonGlocker Academy Ditto. They have them in several sizes. I currently have 4 large ones filled to the rim with Brim, and I need a few more. blkbd 10-18-2005, 14:58 Originally posted by Mnukedude I like the military ones better too. Also look for wholesale to the public places and shops that are liquidaters of surplus stock,They will most likly carry alot of those imported tools. I have one a couple towns over and he had awhile back 30cal ammo cans $3 and 50cal for 4$. Most of the stock was great condition and I walked out with 6 of each. Sadly the milsurp stores in my area don't offer cans in much better shape, much of the time. What are these wholesale things you speak of? OutintheWoods 10-18-2005, 19:29 I have the Plano variety. Very good cans. I saw some at Wally world in sporting goods recently. It was called the Magnum. It was the large size and had the added feature of dividers. They also had some of the smaller variety, made by flambeau. BassPro has a much better variety. blkbd 10-19-2005, 15:16 Originally posted by Mnukedude Sadly the milsurp stores in my area don't offer cans in much better shape, much of the time. Maybe you call them discount centers, They are mostly in a warehouse do too the low cost and they buy from around the country from stores and manufactures that are closing there doors. I have three near me the farthest one about a 40 minute drive. One of them is called TLC (Tool Liqidation Center) and he carries everthing new and used from chinese made to Dewalt and a lot of old and odd ball tools that are getting hard to find, Think of them as Homier,Cummings or Northen Tool They carry anyhing and everything. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
