Preventing front sight dirt....

I have a G24c. I shot it for the first time last week and before I emptied my first magazine, the front sight was pure black.

Is there any reasonable way to prevent this? The front sight on my G19c never gets this dirty as fast......

Honestly..... Switch to a pure black front sight. I had this problem as well and it was impossible to keep clean. I switched to Heinie sights (serrated black) and the problem doesn't exist any more. I also found a much better sight picture that I liked then.

Can you post a pic of your Heinie front sight? How about a sight pic? What is the cost of the Heinie sights?

Do those ports force the exhaust gases forward onto the front sight? Or do the ports force the exhaust gas straight up?

It appears they go straight up. But the blast is enough to cover the front sight.
