I took it out shooting today, and man does the midlength reduce recoil! Also, I was shooting xm193 and you could not see any flash at all. I was very impressed. I was quite timid about spending $45 on a flash hider, but the vortex proved to be well worth it. I was shooting at 25 and 50 yards and with the eotech I could keep almost every shot inside the 6-7 ring using the TD vfg as a monopod.

Got the upper all put together from adco, if anyone is in the market they do quality work!

I'm with Michigun, I love dissies (dissi?), and I thought I'd come with a novel hypothetical idea with a rifle length free float and low-pro gas block on carbine, and low and behold, there it is :)

(Seriously though, I like the railed Dissy for its added “real-estate”, its longer rifle length sight radius & for the fact that it covers up the hottest part of the gun, the gas block… of course it also covers a lot more of the barrel too, which is a good thing… besides, I actually like the look of the Dissy, kind of the mean bulldog look. ^c)

Yeah, dsg2003gt's "Dissy" variation has been around for a while now... I know I saw my 1st one over a year ago. ^c

I tried to buy one for myself off of a guy about 8 months ago here, but he ended up deciding to keep it... it was also put together by ADCO using a Daniel Defense 12.0 tube, but it had a carbine length gas system instead & had an A2 FH permanently attached to the barrel to reach the 16" overall length requirement.

I also see that Daniel Defense now offers a longer full tube that will even cover a low profile gas block on a rifle length gas system! (Of course the low profile gas block could be in any of the positions under that tube. ^c)
