I have read the, read this FAQ first post(s), and it answered a lot of my questions, so thank you to ProGlock.
I just have a couple others,
1) If say an mp5 or like short pistol cal. firearm, is semi-auto only is it classified as class III, I assume it’s the same as M-16/AR-15. So no?
2) Does anyone HK or otherwise produce such a thing? A semi only pistol cal. "machine gun" in the mp5 style or another style? I’m open to ideas so shoot away.
Thank you for your time.

HK made the sp89 pictol, there are UZI pistols, Tec 9 pistols M11 and M10 pistols, Tommy Gun pistols, all of these are semi auto stockless versions of SMGs.

I can't vouch for the quality of this firearm, as I believe that to be a point of much speculation, but have a look at this.
http://alpinetek.netfirms.com/guns/sp10/
It's manufactured by Special Weapons.
Also have a look at this link
http://www.ssgknives.com/index.html?SemiAutoRifles
These both are from a Google search, I am completely unfamiliar with both sites.
I believe that the problem you're going to run into will be barrel length, if you're looking for a true mp5/93 clone. For example, the first rifle on the second link has a "Fake Silencer" permanently attached to extend barrel length to the required 16". It would most likely be possible to remove that if you're interested in going the NFA $200 route.
To the best of my knowledge, all linked weapons are fully legal for a civilian to own.
This is the extent of my very limited knowledge on this subject. In fact, I would wait to hear from someone more knowledgeable before considering any of the above examples.

Wow great information guys, thanks
I guess I diden't know what to search for.
Any one else feel free to chime in.
Thanks again
EDIT After a little thought, why would a 16" barrel be required, its basically a 9mm handgun with a stock, yes?
or do they fall under a special rule?

16" barrel is required do to the buttstock. This came about in 1934 with the passage of the Gun Control Act of 1934. Whether it makes sense or not, it is the law. Provided you are in a state where it is legal and your CLEO will sign off on it and you are willing to pony up $200 and fingerprints, you can have a MP5 copy in semi auto only with the 8.85" barrel. Bobcat Weapons will make these up for you as factory original SBR's for $50 each. Andy from Bobcat Weapons called me today to tell me that he shipped out 2 SBR's for me today. A BW-5 and a BW-5 PDW. Add a registered sear and you can move the sear pack between guns and not worry about the short barrels and buttstocks because each gun is registered as a SBR.
