Is anyone else having trouble with the PM9’s 7 shot magazine? I have three 6 shot mags and they are flawless. However, when I used the 7 shot, the 3rd round will not cycle completely. The 3rd time it happened I loaded 7 rounds in the magazine and lightly tapped the magazine base (separate from the gun) on the shelf. After the first tap I could see the round starting to eject. By the second or third tap it sprang free from the magazine. I tried firing the remaining 6 rounds (instead of the 7) and had no problems. It just will not deliver with 7 rounds.
I’ve had this gun a couple years and this problem with the 7 round magazines just began yesterday. Must be the mag spring don’t you think? I only use the 7 rounder at the range anyway.
Sounds like you need a new magazine spring.
Like you, I plan to use the 7 rounder at the range. Prefer to carry the flush mounted 6 round magazines.

I have 2 6-round magazines - both function fine.
I have never even tried the 7-rounder.
Why practice with something I'm not going to carry?

Don't know. Guess it's like drinking the last beer in a 6 pack, it's there:) I'll never carry it, is looks/feels feminine I think.

I just took apart my 7 shot mag and the casing was filthy. I cleaned it out with a Q-tip and will get back to you next week.
I've got a brand new PM9 with about 70 rounds thru it.
The six round mag is almost working perfectly (a 1 in 24 failure of the slide to go all the way forward, which is improved from a 20 in 24 when I first started).
The seven round mag has developed (after about the 4th use) a bad habit: the second round will nosedive in the magazine. Have to retract the slide and pull the mag out. Will then run thru the rest of the rounds okay.

glokker,
Call Dottie at Kahr. She knows GT and has helped those who have asked. Make the call TO HER, tell her your from GT and relay your problem.
Do a search at this site on her, and you'll see what I mean.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
I got a reply from Kahr as I had a couple of feed failures with the 7-round mag. She said it could be from my pinky putting lateral stress on the magazine and that they are redesigning the plastic extension.
Sounds plausable to me. Just picked up a 2nd 7-round and will see if the same thing happens.
With me, I got the failures when I first got to the range, but once the gun and I were warmed up, no more problems.

You know, that just sounds crazy. The mag should not have so much play that when in the mag well the lateral pressure upsets the alignment so much to cause failures to feed.
Are failures to feed the result of the mag spring? Some think so and in ADDO's case, it was suggested that the spring be changed. I am assuming that the changing of the spring is to replace the original spring that weakened. Other's have sent their Kahr's to Kahr that then did things like replaced the recoil spring.
This differed in my situation. I found the mag springs to be exerting too much pressure. This made it difficult to strip rounds from the mag and chamber them during normal firing. When a stoppage would occur, it was a nose dive. I tried several suggested remedies and none helped.
Since the mags were so hard to load, I thought maybe they had too much spring pressure and so I started cutting off mag spring coils until I reached a point where the mags and PM9 were working together well. I removed 3 coils from the 6 round mag, 4 from the 7, and 5 from the 8 rounder. After the changes, nose dives are virtually gone. The mags are easier to load as well.
