I picked up a used like-new MK9 at the local gun shop the other day for $449 and went to the range with it today for the first time to test it for reliability. I tried it with a 6 round and two 7 round mags.
Wow. It is sweet shooter, smooth trigger, 100% reliable in 200 rounds, and recoil is much softer than with my PM9. I shot my G19 today as well, and the MK9 has no more recoil or muzzle flip than the G19 (even with the shorter 6 round mag), while the PM9 has always been pretty snappy.
Even Ranger 127+p+ were pretty controllable, although it did sound more like a 357sig than a 9mm. At least that's what the guy next to me thought ;)
I found the Golden Saber 147gr milder to shoot than even the Gold Dot 124+p, with excellent accuracy, so that's what I left in it since it will be one of my wife's home-defense pistols. I believe I finally found something other than our .22 that I am sure she'll enjoy shooting, since she didn't like the strong kick of the 135gr +p gold dots in the alloy j-frame (which is going to get loaded with some safe-stop cup-faced wadcutters sooner than later).
Unfortunately, I forgot to test out my two 10 round extended mags, so I can't rotate them into use for now and I've had them for at least 8-9 months ;g
