I'm considering getting AO big dot tritium sights put on my P9. I've found that I should it OK at self defense distances at the well lit range, but getting on target with any degree of accuracy in poor to no light situations is really tough. I'm looking for a better sight system than what comes on the P9 and that's led me to the AO sight, however, I'm open to other suggestions if folks with experience in this area care to comment. Thanks!

I have them on my Para Carry and they are for combat range. You will hit what counts but don't expect tight groups. My average group sixe with this gun before the XS sights went on was under 4" at 15 yards at firing at speed. With the XS at speed same range my groups are under 5". On a B27 all my shots are with in the 9 ring. just my .02
I just got the standard Trijicon three-dot night sights on my PM9 and love - LOVE - them! I'm shooting amazingly tight groups as fast as I can pull the trigger, something I couldn't even come close to doing with the factory sights. I now have a newfound respect for the PM9's accuracy.
It also helps that they were lined up perfectly with the bore of the gun when installed. Make sure the smith that puts them in knows what he's doing.
I don't have them yet, but when I get the money together I intend to get a set of the Express 24/7's put on my P9 Covert. I had a set on my G23 and loved them but they didn't fit my needs for plate shooting. I say go for it.
I have the AO (aka: XS) Big Dot tritium sights on my Kahr P40.
Based on your stated needs, these should be perfect for you.
BTW, I have Meprolights on my PM9 and while they are brighter than the AOs, they're not as fast on target.

I had them on my PM9. I swapped to the new black slide, and apparently the dovetails are(were) different than on my original stainless slide. The Big Dots were not available at the time, so I had Kahr go ahead and put normal night sights on. Not sure of the new brand.
I must say that for a short range, self defense gun, the big dot is awesome. Put it on the target and put it down. The back sight is close enough from muscle memory. Obviously they are not for hair splitting at 100 yards, but neither is a PM9 anyway.

I've had the XS 24/7 Big Dots on my MK9 Elite 98 since anout 1999 and I've done as well as shooting a 588/600 during a PD qualification. At self defense distances they are very quick to acquire! If you learn the sight picture for longer ranges, it can be accurate there too, as I discovered.
I have the standard 3-dot tritium sights on my PM9 as delivered from Kahr.
I prefer the 24/7 sights for self defense (I have the small dots on my NAA 32 ACP), and the standard 3-dots style sights for general use (combination range/self defense)...
I just put the XS sights on my PM9 and I am VERY pleased! I was able to shoot nice groups at short distances. It is amazing how quickly you can get on target. I am much less concerned about tight groups than quick aquisition in a carry gun. And I don't paractice at 25 yards with my carry gun either... I would not put these sights on a target pistol though I might consider Heinie Straight Eights.
