From holster brands locations etc. I will be getting a g19 in the near future and would like some good info on concealing it as it is a little bigger than say the revolver my family tried to talk me into. So far I have been thinking leather holster in the belt line, but i want to hear from you all maybe w/ some links / pics of holsters etc. Anything will help i am sure. TYVM

I carry a G19 everyday. I am 5”6” 145# (just to demonstrate that I am not a large man) I use a Comp-Tac IWB. They have a web site. You need a good, strong belt. At least cowboy thickness and 1.5” tall, forget your everyday dress belt. I wear a polo type shirt un-tucked in the summer and a light jacket in the winter (Texas). At first you will notice even the smallest amount of printing. Check yourself prior to leaving the house. You would be amazed at what people don’t notice.

You will hear over & over and it was true for me that you will buy 5 holster before you find "one right one" for you.

BTW I do not carry a spare mag. As I play defense not offence.:)

IWB if you can be comfortable
Mitch rosen ARG is what i suggest. I wear at least 8 hours a day with my 19 and have no issues. Expect to wait 2-3 months for it if you order from rosen.

I'm partial to the Kramer IWB #3 in horsehide. This particular was designed specifically for the G19. If an OWB holster is an option, I prefer the Kramer belt scabbard in horsehide. Kramer holsters in horsehide are virtually indistructable. ;c

I carry my 19 at 3:30, my holster is from http://www.andrewsleather.com/
It's the MacDaniel II with the body shield option.
It’s a very comfortable holster, high quality materials and craftsmanship.

Another vote for the CTAC here.

I'm 5'11" 170 and I carry my 19 in a CTAC everyday. The CTAC is supported by a Wilderness 1.5" CSM belt (don't underestimate the value of a good sturdy belt) around 830-9 (lefty). It's so comfortable I hardly know it's there sometimes.

I'm 5'9" 190 and carry my G19 currently in an original Sidearmor IWB. I wear a 1 3/4" heavy belt and pull it up tight at about 3:30. Chafes for about five minutes when I first put it on, but don't even know it's there once it's been on for a bit.

Sidearmor or Comp-Tac would be my two choices.

I use a Bagmaster(.com) quilted IWB with the spare mag carrier for my G19. They last forever. Very concealable.

I've been very satisfied with my FIST Inc "ultra thin" kydex clip IWB. http://www.fist-inc.com/holsters/k1/1k.htm

I'm 5'11" 170 lbs. This is a straight drop design that has worked well worn at 3:00, 4:00 or in the appendix position.

I recall when belt clips had a horrible rep for coming off the belt with the draw. Not this one. Never. It's got some bite. It's worked as well with jeans and no belt as with a belt. (G19)

I am 5 foot 10 and tip the scales at 170. My attire varies from 3 piece suits to t-shirt and jeans. My carry rig is my G19 in a Comp Tac C.T.A.C. http://www.comp-tac.com/ . I have been exceptionally pleased with this holster after going through 10 others before getting it right. I wear it between 2:45 and 3:45, depending on what clothing I have on.

By the way, never underestimate the importance of carrying a good knife also!

The CTAC is my most common off duty holster for my G19, but my medium sized SmartCarry is the most comfortable and provides ultra concealment for this amazingly good gun.

I don't carry a 19 but I do carry a 23. I am about 6'/200 and I wear mostly un-tucked t-shirts. I carry in a Fobus paddle holster in about the 2:00 position most of the time. I find that it is very easy to hide right there even under a thin t-shirt. Either that, or people just don't care. But, I have walked past many LEO's that don't know I am one as well and they have yet to even take a second glance, so I guess it is working out good for me. Also second the good knife comment.

For less than $100. you can buy a Threat Solutions UCR and a Wilderness Three Stitch belt. It will be the last rig you will ever want or need.

Like the gentleman a few replies above, I do carry my 19 CCW in a Fobus paddle holster. I may sound like a cheap b@stard, but do yourself a favor and get one. For about $10-$20 bucks you can't go wrong. Many within the forum have stated that you'll go through five holsters before you find one you'll actually like. I have a lot of better things to do with my money than spend about a hundred a pop on a "custom" holster plus the added expense of a "custom" belt. Unless you are sold on the tradition of leather, give the Fobus a try. Regardless of what others may say, spend the bucks and get a good belt. I wear a Wilderness Tactical 5-stitch belt with my Fobus paddle holster and they work great together. I also have a Blackhawk belt slide holster as well.

I carry my g19 in a IWB Milt Sparks VM2 at about 5 oclock. I like the grip to be close to my body because i normally just wear a t shirt when i go out over it. The closer everything is to your body, the less print you get.

I have a fobus and a ctac and don hume and another don hume and an uncle mikes iwb, and a galcocombat master owb. That being said I will rate them acording to overall satisfaction, meaning comfort, retention, concealability.
1. galco combat master owb- absolutely the best of course owb
2. ctac- invisible, slightly uncomfortable after awhile
3. fobus-very concealable very comfortable
4. don hume - iwb with clip ok for concealabilty but stinks because it moves around on clip
5. other don hume- not alot of use
6. uncle mikes- like a sock with a clip

By the way I use a galco 1.5inch "cop" belt.

For about $14.00, you can get a Glock Sport Holster that holds the gun flat to your side, does not require buying larger than normal pants, and conceals the gun under an untucked shirt or light jacket as well or better than any holster costing many time more. A good carry belt and you are good to go for concealeed carry of your G19!

Check out the CTAC by Comptac. I use one with a Ted Blocker LFI Belt to carry my Glock 19 or 36 all the time. I recommend the velcro clips if you want maximum concealment. The LFI Belt is lined with velcro, so it's a perfect match! By the way, I'm 5'6" and 150# so I know the 19 can be concealed effectivly.

For those with both the VMII and the CTAC, barring comfort, which one would you say is more concealable?

You can wear just about anything and still conceal when using a SmartCarry holster --> http://www.smartcarry.com

I've used one with a Ruger P95, a G26, and a G19 and have been very satisfied.

After using cheap collapsable inside the pants holsters for years, I finally switched to a Blade Tech IWB that hides great and is more secure and comfortable than those cheapies. It's worth it to pay the $$ for an item like a holster that you use all the time. Blade Techs can be had with J-hooks or snap over belt straps and are adjustable for straight up or the FBI forward cant.

I think most of the high quality holsters from the reputable makers are competitive and will do the job much better than those cheap ones. The precise fit of the more costly holsters such as the Blade Tech I got ($53 or so) really make a difference when you carry every day.

I've never used a VMII, so I can't comment on that. I have however used a lot of leather holsters over 20 years of carrying concealed and now use a CTAC exsclusively.

I like being able to adjust the cant, which you can't do with most leather holsters. As far as comfort, if it's adjusted right and your pants are sized to accomodate the gat in your pants then comfort isn't an issue with the CTAC.

Good luck and happy carrying.

The Glock Sport holster is one the best holsters I have used with any of my Glocks.
