After talking to a vietnam vet I am reconcidering getting night sights on my carry piece glock 26. He held my gun and I walked back in the woods about 100ft. I could STILL see the night sights.
Do they make low profile night sights for a glock 26? or low profile metal sights without the night sights?
Currently I just have the plastic sights, but I don't see much on glocks website as far as accessories or what sights I can order from them that fit properly.
I want them as low profile as possible so they do not rub and get cought on fabric.

The purpose of night sights are to provide illumination to mark the front sight and rear sight in darkness where your pistol sights would not be visible otherwise.
If you are straight behind the sights (ie, behind the pistol), you could see the sights in total darkness, perhaps 100 feet away, but I don't think these lights are so bright that will illuminate you as a target.
Glock, Mepro and Trijicon all make nice night sights. The profile on Glock sights are low. You could round the edge or curve of the sights to prevent snagging. Also, a holster will prevent snagging on your pistol.
A night sight is definitely a valuable addition to a personal defense pistol, esp. in the civilian setting.
Both AmeriGlo and Trijicon make low-profile night sights for the Glock. I just bought AmeriGlo's "Smooth Slope" night sights (http://www.ameriglo.net/store_pages/glock_tritium_sights.html) for my G26, w/green front and yellow rear illumination. They're steel and use Trijicon-branded tritium vials - available factory-direct or from Topglock.com (http://topglock.com/catalog/sights.htm) - Very nice product.

Trijicon's Novak night sights (http://trijicon.com/user/parts/products1.cfm?PartID=382&back_row=6&categoryID=7) for the Glock aren't as low-profile, but are snag-free. They are also available factory-direct, with choice of green, yellow, or orange rear illumination.

I have yet to hear about any police agencies removing their night sights because they make them easier to find in the dark. Yes, night sights can be seen in the dark; that's the point. If the bg is behind you and you are holding the pistol at the ready (or, preferably in a retention position) then he won't see the sights anyway.
You are worrying about a problem that does not exist.
Ameriglo makes some nice, low-profile sights.
My personal setup (G26, G19 G38) is an Aro-Tek plain target rear from Lonewolf (http://www.lonewolfdist.com/products.asp?prod=38)- see ARO-0102 - you can order just the rear for $36 and an Ameriglo tritium front, either the GS-112 or GL-112T (http://www.lonewolfdist.com/products.asp?prod=39). The -T is the narrower blade that's the same front used on the Ameriglo Operators. Looks just like the Smooth Slope setup depicted above by AFD, without the extra pair of dots floating in front of my eyes, which themselves are out of warranty.
FWIW, I wouldn't get too hung up on the anti-snag issue. The rear face of the stock Glock sights are angled forward the same as most other makers of sights that 'slope' and appear 'snag-free'. The 'snag' issue regards getting the gun smoothly out of the holster IMO and factory sights don't hang up any more than anything else that has a forward rake to the part of the sight in front of the notch; although the latter do look cooler and rounded edges may help. ;)
I've happily carried stock sights and would happily use something like Ameriglo Operators too without a worry. Tall Ghost Rings, etc., are another matter. Just my $.02, YMMV.

Steve, thanks for the feedback - got to see some of these on an instructor's 26 not long ago. And I will agree, nasty, overcast day (tornado coming) but there was no doubt about where your sights were with any background. Yet another option.
:)
+1 on the AmeriGlo smooth slope green front/yellow rear. All others are obsolete after installing these on my G23.
+1 on TopGlock...ordered on-line on Monday night, package rec'd on Thursday. Sights installed by me and zero'd w/ Lasermax in under an hour for $83. It doesn't get any better than that.
