other than the alaskan, does ruger make a da snumb nose chambered in 45 colt? i know that both s&w and tarus do but they ain't that strong. looking for ccw with owb holster. might even go for a 4 inch barrel. i carry a s&w 15 in 38 now.

No they don't, but they need to. I'd like to see a GP100 with 5 shots of .45 Colt!!

If you're looking for a short barreled .45 Colt Ruger why not pick up one of the Redhawks and have the barrel shortened to whatever length you want? And, as for the Smith & Wesson; .45 Colt guns RE: "but they ain't that strong"! I'm wondering just which magazine writer told you that story? While I'm not inclinded to making it a steady diet in my Smith I'll put my Heavy Bear loads through it without worry any day of the week. The M-25-5 is made with the same steel etc. as the M-29 in .44 Magnum is and will handle the same level of loads. And if you can "hide" a M-15 you can "hide" a M-25-5.
