I bought my first GLOCK 21 several months ago and have shot a lot of rounds thru it and i was a bit unsure at first due tot he gtip size and overall thickness of the slide,we always were issued the 9mm's and .40's after a few hundred rounds i really began to like the GLOCK 21,so i have been really considering a GLOCK 30 for off duty carry but have heard rumors about poor performance in short barrled guns and the .45 ACP round any one have any good recomendations for a really good duty round out of one of these, the dept currently issues the international frangible round it is a 155 grain bullet,we can carry what we want off duty if we qualify with it.....go figure any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated.
thanks

Colorado, I think Speer has re-engineered the bullets (Midway was listing the short barrel Gold Dots as a reloading component). They may have tinkered with the powder as well.
I used to carry CorBon 185gr +p in my G30 but I didn't care for the round so I ended up just using 230gr Gold Dots. I haven't done any testing with it but I really like that round in general.

I carry 230 gr +P's, either WW RangerT or Fed HST in my G30. Both rounds function well and are very accurate. Plus, being +P's they more than make up for the 50 fps velocity loss from a G21 barrel.
