I bought a used Ruger P-85 4 years ago. I spoted it in the used gun display case of a local gun shop...Up to that point I had heard awful things about the Ruger P-85...Jam-o-matic, not accurate --- you get the idea...

This gun was caked with gunk! I could not believe that a gun dealer would put such a filthy gun in the display case!

Of course I asked to see it. I broke it down...Grease, dirt, and animal hair...Let me tell you this gun was nasty...

I wiped some of the gunk off on my t-shirt...Hmmm...no pitting, no rust...Clean barrell...Hmmmm....

Me: "Give you $175.00 for it...

Them: No way...Price on that is $300.00...

Me: hahahahha...

I handed it back to him...

Me: You might want to put that in your will, because at $300.00 you are going to own it forever...

Them: I forget...Some B/S...

We dickered back and forth for a couple of minutes...

Bottom line: Out the door for $195.00. Original box, manual, and 2 15 round mags....

That puppy cleaned up nice, and after 5k+ rounds it has been flawless...Not a hick up, and it eats everything!

Just thought I'd tell you about one of my Rugers....

How is accuracy. Also look on the safety levers. If it has mark II stamped on one that means it has been back to the factory for the safety and barrel recall. If not you should send it. I have owned one P-85 that I purchased from another Gter. It was a good gun. Enjoy yours.
