Greetings all,

I know this is a dumb question, but for the folks that have the G34/35, do you find it more accurate to shoot than other Glock models of the same caliber? I recently picked up a G17 and really really like the pistol. I'm now considering a G34/35, but wondering if it really would be worth it over the G17 I currently have. I really think this is one of the "ultimates" in a combat style handgun. Also, can you post some pix of your groups?

Thanks,
Ken

Mine was accurate enough to shoot my monitor while I read your question :P

Actually, the G34 is the only Glock that I can shoot decently. I really like it. Must be because of the lighter trigger.

If not for CCW, I would recommend it.

the question should be how accurate are you??, dont take me wrong is just becuse depends more on us than the guns, In my case had a 17 and could not shoot it decently, so I decided to give the 34 a try and Im very happy, if a I do my part I can take the center off my papper terget at 20ft same thing with my 35 or 21!!!

I was making round for round head shots with a Glock 35 at 25 yards.

All else being equal, a longer sight radius usually means tighter groups. But, one factor overlooked by most is that as we go through middle age and become candidates for progressively stronger reading glasses, moving that front sight just a bit further away allows us to see it a bit more clearly. Assuming the same rear sight in the G-17 and the G-34, moving the front sight a bit actually makes for a more coarse sight picture by allowing more light around the front sight. This helps most of us shoot better except perhaps for those youngsters with perfect eyesight. And, you should be focused on the front sight.

The longer sight radius is just more forgiving for me.
I can shoot equal size groups with a G17 or a G19 for that matter on a good day. But It's easier to have a good day with my G34.

I hope that helps put it into perspective for you.

Thanks for the replies. I'v read that the 34/35 isn't any more mechanically accurate than the G17/G22. I've never fired the 34/35 series, but I have to believe that they shoot differently for the shooter. Maybe better balance and as someone mentioned, longer sight radius. Would like to get my hands on one to try out. Also interested in seeing how the lighter trigger feels.

I am barely getting 3" groups at 25 yards (2 3/4" at best), though I can shoot it well- because despite being mechanically less accurate, I am just as good if not better with the 34 than my p89 off hand at about 15 yards (probably because of advantages like the sight radius and trigger make a bigger difference when not shooting from a rest).
