View Full Version : Storm Lake 6 port 9mm Barrels
I have a Storm Lake 6 port barrel for my G-35, between it and the "THE" Brass Magwell it makes a huge difference in muzzle flip and recoil. Has anyone ever tried this barrel for 9mm Major, if so I would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks,
John
How much did you pay for it and do you have a link or a pic of it? I'm getting ready to finish a G34 open project and need a barrel/comp setup soon.
I use a KKM barrel to make 9mm major, mines in a 17L though. With the 9mm major I don't like the porting bleeding off velocity, so I went with the external comp. Either one will work, you will just have to push the bullet a liil harder to make up for all the ports in it. but it shouldnt be a problem.
Tank,
I bought mine from Top Glock for $135.00. My G-35 has the ported barrel, Steel Guide Rod with an IMSA 15lb spring minus two coils, the "THE" brass mag well, and is about to have a JPoint Red Dot installed. Sorry, do not have a digital camera.
Tim,
I can use my regular holster with a ported barrel. At my age and skill level it's hard to get too serious, I shoot IDPA & USPSA for the fun of it. I load 147 grn Zero JHP's running at 900 fps for my G-34, another shooter told me it sounds like a .22 After the match I let him and his buddy shoot it, they loved it. Hell, I'm seriously considering a Storm Lake 9mm ported barrel for the G-35 and shooting open Minor, that gun should have no muzzle flip or recoil at all.
9mm minor is FUN with a ported gun.

I had problems with my G34 with the 6 port barrel and standard vel 115 and 124gr 9mm loads.
Most of them probably could have been solved by a slightly lower power recoil spring, but with the stock spring it was iffy.

Thanks. I notice you said "had problems", did you get rid of it?
