Hi folks. Quiet around here....which surprises me because the G17 may be the most beloved Glock (it is to me). I guess it is just so reliable, tough, accurate, etc. that there is just not much more to say. What can we discuss about the perfect pistol?

I'd like to own a G17 to compliment my G19.

I love my G17. In a manly way of course.

It is dead because of the sub forum name. Why not call it the Original G17 club? I admit it took me a day or two to even click on this forum. I thought the 9mm forum was all there was for the G17. The founders club makes sense but only if you think about it for a little bit. It's not flashy or to the point.

The name of the club makes it sound 700-Club related! ;e
But still, my 17 has 3700rnds through it without one problem at all.

I own both, and they compliment each other all the time! ;f

I own one Glock, a G-17. I love it. Not a single failure to fire or jam so far. What more can you ask?

I guess we are so busy posting on General Glocking that we forget the Founders Club. Oh yeah I just added a Scherer 3.5lb connector and competition trigger from Glockparts.com. Already did the $.25 trigger job. The trigger feels a world of difference. I'll just stop right there.

Someone should ask the admin to do two things:

1) Rename the founder's club.
2) Put it higher on the list... it's pretty much on the bottom.

It is hidden. I'll keep adding to it when I do anything to my G17.

sounds like it's the "Lost & Found" section at GT.
It took me a while to see this place cause the name just doesn't catch you and I put a vote in for this place. We need a new name here. I don't know what but we need a name that says it all.

Some choices:

Club seventeen?

One seveN club?

The 17 Council Forum?

Round Table of the 17?

Pull the trigger, goes bang! Pull the trigger goes bang!
That's the G17. I love 'em. I have 3 G17's.
And yes the forum name does need re-vamped.

Club Seventeen and One Seven Club are both good. I prefer Club 17 simply because of readability.

sometime choices are not good , well too difficult to make, ok so i want all three, but can only have one. i had a 19, i know had is a bad feeling. i have a 21, and my wife has given me permission to add one more to the family. i know you guy's can't help me. there is no helping in a situation like this. funny, there is really no right or wrong decision. only the empty feeling when the other two are left with the gun shop owner. boy getting older, and being responsible, and acting mature, as well as getting your priorities in order, kind of stinks. maybe i will get a 17 and bother you guy's on the founders forum. if i do i will help you lobby for a new name. i agree this is a lame name for the 17 folks.
hope you all have a great thanksgiving!

I recently purchased a new G17. I thought it would be nice to have one since it was the first glock produced. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but definitly this weekend can't wait.

p.s second the motion for a new name

I had a G34 for a while, sold it, should have kept it, but I wasnt, thinking that I would miss it. Anyhow keep looking at the G19, but damn I keep going towards the damn G17, its just about the right size, and everything else, its not to large and not to small its just right, has a high capacity and just, has all the right things going for it, I dont know why its not more popular than it is.

I owned many pistols before being introduced to Glock. My first was a Glock 17 first generation used. And, my second. And, my third. I have gone on to obtain other Glocks. The 17 is my favorite (except for caliber). The reason it is so quiet in this forum is that it difficult to complain about or improve a pistol that is near perfection. Sure, I added Heine slant pros and did a grip reduction. However, I would otherwise have not had any complaints, just improvements for myself. Estimated no. of rounds through - 25,000.

I love my model 17! It is my Home Security System, complete with a Streamlight M3 and Winchester Ranger SXT +P+ HP's.

I have owned 1911's, a Sig, Walther and Steyr but the 17 rules! I recently purchased a 26 for CCW. Like the 17 it is an excellent pistol!

Next I will get a 19 so I have the option of using the light with a concealable pistol.

Let's face it, the 17 changed handgun history!:)
