Made it to the range today, to try out my new to me, KP97DC. I had on hand, 100 rounds of Winchester and S&B 230gr FMJ and 20 rounds of Federal Hydrashoks. The gun was absolutely flawless. I actually think it shot better than the KP-9 I used to own. Now it didn't give me the same accuracy my Colt does, but it was no slouch either. I think part of it was that I have been shooting Glocks and Colt for solong now, I am not used to the da/sa trigger like I once was. This turned out to be a great buy.

Your report reminds me of every range trip for my KP97DC. Mine was so reliable and dependable it is now my bedside gun. This is one of the better Value/Price ratio guns out there.

the KP97DC is very accurate and fat and heavy and big and fat and cuts you if you are stressing the use out of it. great battle gun maybe. range ok. carry -- forget it - too fat, heavy and the double decocker cuts my hands and the sights also. for the money you can't beat it, ecept getting a used Glock.
yeh, Glock. smooth. silky - not fat, Glock. doesn't cut my hands. But what can I say. I like my CZ75 best, but it too cuts my hands when I exercise with it.
So, Glock it is.
Unless I want to experience the fat hand cutter. Then I get out my Ruger.

KP97DC is 1.3" at the widest point, weight is 30 ounces. Carries well for me.

R96 - WOW! what do you carry it in.
at 5'9" 205 it doesn't blend well for me.
although I like the COP3 Ruger holster I got for it - just - well, big and fat.

and, hey, does it cut you when you stress fire it?

I think of myself as the average man.

I am 6'1", 245 pounds. A little bigger than average. I either carry in a Don Hume IWB or a Fobus pabble holster. Either way, no one can tell I am armed. No the gun hasn't cut me. It is a lot smoother than my Colt.

your information is appreciated - I think the cutting machine decocker on the 97 isn't near as smooth as the flatter version of the P95, which is a decocking safety and is flatter up against the side.
nevertheless, smaller versions of man continue to note the largeness of this weapon for bulging.
