View Full Version : Question regarding '1' on barrel
My new G19 has a "1" on the barrel between the "glock" stamp and the hexagonal stamp. My G23 and G27 do not bear the same marking. Any ideas of what purpose or meaning it serves on the G19? I found another recent post about this topic, but there hasn't been much of a reply. Any ideas? Thanks.
It is a mod as a result of NYPD complaints. I posted some measurements of the two barrels in General Glocking. Seems to improve overall function, but most have not had any problem with either version. The mods seem to allow a little faster unlocking, more room for ejection and hold the barrel a little higher in the frame during the feed cycle.
This is a G19 only mod, it does not apply to other models.

I was told by a friend that the "1" on my barrel meant that it was the 2nd barrel for that gun.......kinda like when I got my frame upgraded , it now has a "1" before the serial number.......so I will assume that the barrel is upgraded to the new and improved barrel like jungle was talking about.
Can anybody shine some light on this?

"1" = upgraded barrel design.
Search the forum, there have been numerous threads on this topic.
