I am curious, does the Glock 34/35 have the absolute maximum barrel/slide length that will still allow the gun to fit in the IDPA/IPSC "box"? In other words, if you wanted the longest possible long-slide Glock for IDPA/IPSC, would there be any advantage to shortening a Glock 24? (I'm not sure shortening a slide/barrel is even allowed in IDPA.)

The 34/35 are pretty close to being as long as possible for the IDPA box probably within a 1/4" so I don't think you would gain anything by shortening a 24,plus it would probably cost alot to have that type of work done.Ken

The USP Expert is over 1/2" longer than a 34 and according to the (edit) large crazy looking guy with the tin foil hat avatar, it still fits.

USPSA no longer uses the box size for production guns. They have a published list of legal guns for the class. The G34 is legal. The G17L isn't.

Used to be that production called for a 5" max bbl. That kept the 34 & 35 out of the class. The day after that rule was changed, I had my G34 !

Not sure of the current IDPA regs, I shoot my G29 for that anyhow. The idea being to shoot what you carry.
