I wan't a long slide but I don't know which one is right for me. Recoil is no problem. I own a G26, G31C and a G21 and I like all of them for different reasons.
The G26 is great for CCW and cheap on ammo but isn't as fun to shoot as the G31C and G21.
The G21 is fun to shoot, cost of ammo is not an issue but to large to CCW so mostly just a range gun right now.
The G31C is ok for CCW, cost of ammo is not an issue and is the most accurate and equaly fun to shoot as my G21.
My options are G34, G35, G24 or build a G20/21 long slide. Cost is not an issue, my main consern is buying the right one the first time.
Any suggestions from the long slide owners out there.

:) This site is, 'MUST READING' for you:

I like the G-34; but, like the article says, if power is a factor, then, either the G-24 or the G-35 (Which several acquaintances shoot) is the way to go. ;)
I have both a G34 and G35 and really like them both. I mostly use the G34 for competition shooting because power factor isn't really a major need in some of the games I play. If I was shooting Limited (Major) in USPSA or Bowling pins with the longslide then I would choose the G35.

I never had much luck with accuracy in the .40 caliber longslides (35 and 24)
My 9mm's (17L and 34) have been tackdrivers.

The above link was informative but left out 3 of my options. I suspect the G34 would be more accurate for most people with the lighter recoil and is a tie with the G20/21 long slide option for me right now.
I have shot the G22 in the past and find the recoil to be a non issue but the G26 and G21 I have already have light recoil that would feel almost non existant to me in a long slide. I could buy the G34 for just the cost of the G20/21 slide alone but having the power of a .45 would be nice. I could even shoot .45 super just to play around with.
I guess my biggest problem is I want power with little recoil for fast follow up shots. My fear is buying the wrong gun and loosing out on the resale to get the right gun. I have too many guns already and the wife is getting pissed so 1 more is about all I will be able to get away with.

I have both 34 and 35, first got the 34 and and for me very accurate and fun to shoot also put the tungsten (heavy guide rod) with 15# spring and very happy so around here is hard to find somebody who sales +P 9mm and so in the quest for finding balance betwen capacity and stoping power I decided on a 35 aand so far Im happy, just went to the range with my 35 for the 2nd time and at 22ft rapid fire 50rds all head shots, don't take me wrong the 34 will do great job with the right ammo!!!

I was/am in the same boat as you.
I ultimately decised on the G35. I was going to build a longslide 10mm/.45, but as big as my hands are, the big framed Glocks just feel like crap to me.
I opted for the G35 for the following reasons:
I can convert it to .357 Sig with nothing more than a conversion barrel.
I can convert it to a 9mm range gun wtih nothing more than a conversion barrel and magazines.
I can slap a .22 conversion on it, and shoot .22LR all day long.
For me, the potential versatility of the G35 platform was just too much to pass up.

The thought of a .357sig never crossed my mind. My favorite Glock is my G31C and the G21 is a close second. The G31C is more accurate at longer ranges than my G21. I would like to have a 6" barrel rather than what the standard Glock barrel.

Check out the .357 Sig forum...some guy there has chrono'ed a .357 Sig out of a G35, and using Doubletap ammo...it's flat out SIZZLING.
When I read that, I made up my mind really quickly to get a barrel for my 35.

Looking at the G17 or G34. Which is best or are they same?

I've had several 17s and miss them. After buying the 34, I like it even better. Longer barrel, longer sight radius, lighter connector, extended magazine release, and a better slide stop lever.
While it is more money, I think it is more gun. The best part about the Glock 17 is that there are lots available and very inexpensive. If you plan to shoot a great deal, go for the 34. No matter what you buy, the 9mm Glock is a great pistol.
