My Glock G20 is completely stock except for Meprolight sights and less than a year old. I put my trust in DoubleTap for personal protection ammo.
I have considered buying some DT Beartooth 200gr. just out of curiosity but am concerned as to whether the gun being stock (especially the barrel) will hold up to the DT Beartooth 200gr. without premature wear or worse.
Any comments?
Thanks

My G20 is -completely- stock. I have fired just about every kind of shelf ammo, including that poopy blazer ammo. ;g
I fired 50rnds of Beartooth DT 200gr through it as well, and it holds up just fine. You are going to feel some major energy with each shot you fire (fire a mag of shelf ammo, then fire this stuff, its hot)
But yes, your G20, by my experiences, should hold up just fine. Glocks in general are very beefy despite being dubbed "plastic" by the lamers and the 1911 retirement community.

It will be fine, the Beartooth's BHN level is approved for poly barrel use. PGH~

One more point to mention. According to Mike at DT, this is his highest pressure 10mm loading. Its HOT, but within SAAMI specs, of course.
It is no problem for the Glock 20. It loves this ammo.
Oh yea, did I mention its HOT?

Shoot it through your G20! It is a great loading for hunters.

Poly Barrel? Come on, there is no such thing.
I am not disputing the G20 will hold up to the Dt Beartooth 200gr. I own a G20 and would hope it will, but why then do so many people buy after market barrels like Bar-sto and KKM?

The SAAMI pressure rating for the 10mm cartidge is very conservative. Norma who originally developed the cartridge loaded it to higher pressures than the SAAMI rating.
Add to the fact that the G20 was designed (not simply rechambered) for taking a life time of beating from the old Norma ammo. You should be just fine.

He's referring to the rifling (polygonal) not the material :)

Sorry... I can't seem to find this ammo on www.doubletapammo.com
Am I over looking it?

No... Beartooth has a backorder (at least for Mike's large quantity orders) and DT sales of this loading are somewhat based on available supply. Keep checking back. When they are available, buy more than you need since this happens every year it seems. I still have some left from last year.... :)

How about for other ammo? I'm wondering what the status of my order is that I placed on Tuesday, the page still says "pending" and I can't reach them by phone.
Speer just resupplied us with 180gr GD's. Your order will be sent out ASAP.
