I work at a class 3/type2 for a part time job while in college(man am I lucky) and my boss has some posties. I took out the AK and the Glock 34 for the first time today.
Despite what some have said, the Glock is E A S Y to control. It is by far the most fun gun I have ever shot. If you ever get the chance to fire one, don't pass it up.
The AK was nice. It is a WASR and singles/doubles/triples were easy to touch off. A bit much gas in the face with mag dumps but still fun. Seems to have almost no muzzle rise just a firm steady push rearward.
Total of only 300 7.62 and 500 9mm but it was a blast.

On Sunday I had the pleasure of playing with (in no particular order):
M-11 9mm "Is it empty already?"
Hk G36 "Hee hee, cool"
MG-42 "Yee haw! My first belt-fed!"
M-249 SAW "I need to be alone right now"
Hk .308 "PDW" Two words: MUZZLE FLASH!
All full auto, of course.
Pics of weapons HERE (http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=36&t=213288)
I am not in any of the pics.
Unfortunately, I did not get there in time to try out the Glock converter on my 17L. :(
A guy at my local range had one and couldn't control it and was fireing it into the sealing. Needless to say he wasn't shooting it for much longer.

Sign up at AFRcom and keep an eye out in the hometown Oregon forum. I think there is a shoot in Albany in December.
