My hammer looks different

I am new to H&K.

I have a full size USP .40 and the hammer sticks out more than my USP .40 Compact I got yesterday. Why?

I know you can't really see the hammer but it may help.

Simple answer, one is compact the other is not. Big hammer is easier to snag on clothing but faster to cock if you need to. Small hammer is less likely to snag but harder to cock.

The compact is made to be concealed the full size is made to be worn out on the hip.
