Who is a REAL Gunny ? ? ?
What's the 201 on this "Ermy" jerk advertising GLOCK products now?? If he was old enough to be in Nam, and in my plat, he'd have been fragged his first week, or put in a 55gal s41t-drum for disposal his second week. Has anyone looked up his 4-real credentials?? I have told Gaston and the FL offices that this jerk is not selling any GLOCKS to anyone. Think about it; if he were adv-ing Berretta would he convince you to buy one?? He seems to be pushing the camo version, so that may be his angle-in for GLOCK. He's not even built much like a Gyreen. And looks to have been about 15 when Nam was on. Whassup widdim?? ( No, I do not want his job.)

Ronald Lee Ermey (born March 24, 1944) is a retired U.S. Marine Corps drill instructor who later made a career as an actor playing the roles of military or authority figures, such as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Full Metal Jacket. He currently hosts Mail Call, a military history program on The History Channel.
On May 17, 2002 he received an honorary promotion to Gunnery Sergeant (E-7) by the then Commandant of the Marine Corps, James L. Jones, becoming the first retiree in the history of the Marines to be promoted.
[edit]
Biography
Born in Emporia, Kansas, Ermey enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1961. Ermey was arrested several times as a teenager and the judge gave him a choice of the military or jail. He later joked that the Marine Corps "put a screeching halt to my unconventional manner". He spent two years as a drill instructor at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego in San Diego, California from 1965 to 1967. In 1968, Ermey arrived in Vietnam where he served for 14 months with the Marine Wing Support Group 17. He then served two tours of duty in Okinawa, Japan. During that time, Ermey rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant and was medically discharged in 1972 for several injuries received during his tours (yet has not been awarded The Purple Heart). Ermey has admitted that he still has nightmares about his combat experiences.
Ermey's Marine Corps awards and decorations are as follows:

Ermey was cast in his first movie while he studied at the University of Manila in the Philippines, using his G.I. Bill benefits. He played a helicopter pilot in Apocalypse Now; he also served as a technical advisor to director Francis Ford Coppola on that film. He played minor roles in films until 1987, when he was cast as the tough drill instructor Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket; Ermey also served as the technical advisor on the film. He was originally supposed to be just the technical advisor to the film, but Kubrick changed his mind after hearing Ermey's hair raising DI tirades, and even let him write some of his dialogue and improvise on set. Kubrick later acknowledged Ermey was one of the best people he's ever worked with, needing just two or three takes per scene. The performance won critical raves and Ermey was nominated for a Golden Globe Award as Best Supporting Actor.
He has since appeared in approximately sixty films, including Mississippi Burning, Dead Man Walking, Se7en, Leaving Las Vegas, Prefontaine, Saving Silverman, and the remakes of Willard and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Ermey also lent his voice for Toy Story, Toy Story 2. He has appeared on television in shows including the Simpsons, Family Guy, and Invader Zim.

Sounds to me like youre just pissed off that he has a successful career post marine corps.

This has nothing to do with NFA firearms. Take it somewhere else.

double-aught,
Until you finally visit a Proctologist and have your head removed from your posterior, Please go away. You have no Clue of what you are talking about, nor do you even seem inclined to do even the basic effort of running a simple search on the Gunny.

Found out all I wanted and more (medical advice excepted). Thanks guys. I'll leave this cycle up here for myself so I can reference it if I ever get pi$$ed at ol' Gunny-Ermy or anyone again. My 'Nam experience was only 434 days (and nights). It ain't over yet and it ain't your business. Thanks again, all (yeah, you too.)

I know, and even though its been 10 years, it seems like yesterday. And from what a crusty old Sgt. Major at the VFW tells me, it always will....

Here is a Clue...
You are posting in the wrong Forum.
It does not matter whether or not we agree with you about Nam, the service, or R. Lee. As This entire thread has nothing to do with this forum, we must assume then that you failed reading comprehension as you must not have read the FAQ.
I would suggest to you that you trying posting in GNG, and when you have a question or a comment that is related to title II devices you come back and try again.
