Rockets 10-29-2005, 22:33 CDNN Has the Green 40 for about $450.00. The cool thing is it is all German. Called today. The slide is stamped with the Smith and Wesson as the importer but the slide and barrel have the German Eagle - N proofmarks. It's a Single/Double Action which I assume is AS though no AS stampings. I had the salesperson stage the trigger and use the decocker. Without the decocker he said it would stage half way back for a short light trigger pull. The add is strange as it says both single/double action and constant trigger. I have one on order and will know tuesday. They only had 12 left when I ordered mine. Rockets Out... madecov 10-31-2005, 17:51 Mine from CDNN is a 2003 model It's the AS Trigger. Green frame and Black slide. Really nice gun. Rockets 11-02-2005, 09:50 Just got it, It's AS and full German Rockets Out.... Mnukedude 11-25-2005, 20:33 Originally posted by Rockets Just got it, It's AS and full German Rockets Out.... New or old frame design? Rockets 11-25-2005, 21:32 Old Rockets Out.... PS: Though their is a Walther rail adaptor to fit more standard things on the rail like I beleive a M3 or M6. I think it sells for $20.00 and says Walther on it. Mnukedude 11-26-2005, 20:36 Rockets: I'm almost tempted to pick one up from CDNN in OD. A .40SW P-99 like what I sold. Maybe I'd have better luck the second time around. Rockets 11-26-2005, 20:46 I forgot if I knew, what problems did you have with your first one? Rockets Mnukedude 11-26-2005, 21:06 Originally posted by Rockets I forgot if I knew, what problems did you have with your first one? Rockets Well, the takedown always felt a little rough, like their were burrs or something things were catching on. This lessoned somewhat with time. It had feeding problems. I'd shoot 300 rounds per trip, and once or twice it would always have a failure to feed, usually with rounds hanging up on the feed ramp. One time it broke a magazine chambering the follower. Rockets 11-26-2005, 21:32 If it was a very early 40 I know there was some problems with feeding on the 40 but not the 9. That was corrected. Both my 40’s come apart easy but when putting the slide back on and clearing the rear slide tabs no matter how hard I try seems to catch a bit on something I can not figure out so I know what you mean. I know they have redesigned the followers at least 4 times, I have not had a problem with mine, dark blue is the latest I believe. Maybe a fluke, any one else here ever actually break a follower? The only problem I note like yours is a hard to reassemble slide like the rear tabs are not lined up right. And I can’t say that it’s a big deal as it turns a 2 second job onto a 10 second job as I do not want to force it. Other than the strange reassembly problem mine are solid as a rock. Then again if I had your problems I would be afraid to use it for anything but plinking. So hey folks, anyone else had any of the problems Mnukedude has had? Is this the common Kahr PM40 problem where you roll the dice and take your chances (though they do fix them, just took me three tries) or is this a very rare lemon? Rockets Out... Mnukedude 11-26-2005, 21:47 Mine was one of the ones with the S&W made slide serial sequence 46.... The magazine followers were light blue. Rockets 11-26-2005, 23:12 Those were problem guns, I expect you have read the P99 faq but the 4000 or so slides and barrels made by S&W and also the early SW99's according to guntests when compared side by side with the latter Walther P99 40's had jamming problems, not all but many, very early Walther P99 40’s had jamming problems but that was fixed in about six months. You did have the good mags. I wonder if the early and only S&W made slides with the jamming problem took a wack at the followers in some way related to the jams. I have never heard of a problem with latter Walther made P99 40's but have heard a fair amount of problems with these hybrids. I actually returned one bought used from a great guy that thought it was all German. So experts, other than the ban 10 round mag baseplate cracking problem, has anyone had any problems with a P99 40 with the German Proofmarks on the barrel and the slide (Eagles and N's on both). If it says S&W on the slide that is the importer so that does not matter. Eagles and N's on the slide and barrel count, any problems after a 200 round break in on these? Chime in folks. Hi Cap mags solve the baseplate problem and the ban is over. I have never heard of this with a all German gun other than the early 1999 lot but if Mnukedude is interested in one of these I want to make sure they have that Glock reliability I have found with my two P99 40’s and both my P99 9mm’s.
