Hi All,
I finally finished and FINALLY took some photos of my Dan Wesson Pointman Seven in 10mm. It started life as a standard, factory-checkered model. Like most things, I just couldn't leave well enough alone. By the time the dust and metal shavings had settled, it wound up being a joint project between myself and gunsmith Dave Severns. This is what was done:
By Me:
-Recontour grip safety, removing hump
-Replace and recontour mainspring housing
-Install Videki solid trigger
-Replace the DW front sight with a Novak
-Install EGW flat-bottomed FP stop
-Install 25 pound Wolff mainspring
-Install 22 pound Wolff recoil spring
-Install Cominolli (Frame Saver) guide rod system
-Install Kimber double-diamond rubber grips
-Install stainless tool-steel extractor
-Install Ed Brown firing pin and Wolff XP fp spring
-Polished tool marks from cast frame
-Recontoured rear of frame, slide and grip safety
-Polished slide flats
By Dave Severns:
-Cleaned up the mess I made of the front sight cut ;W
-Flat topped and serrated the top of the slide
-Cut frame for high grip
-Dehorned and refinished rear sight
-Bead blasted all but slide flats
-Replaced MIM internals with Nowlin tool steel hammer and sear
I had a ball doing it, and learned a bunch. This is how it turned out:
